One of my family member know guy from russia, he was locomotive assistant (stoker?) in diesel locomotive. One day that engine puff flames and whole engine was on fire. He escaped from roof hatch with minor injuries. Engineer was slow and got serious burns and spend week in hospital. He told that whole situation takes only few seconds and then there was flames everywhere. Luckily train speed was walk pace and he jump to snowbench from roof.

Most of the clips you have postes are results of the following. 1. Idleing 2. No load driving/ idleing 3. no maintainance 4. broken or failing turbo (screeching sound) as a product of this the Turbo can also break. 5. Failing silencer leafs

From what i know it is got to do something with the turbo and old crusty gaskets on the turbines

A fire in the exhaust? That means maybe the turbo is blowing up? THAT MEANS YOU HAVE TO STOP?????????????????

0:01 Fire screech 0:25 sounds like a Wandering soul and smoke coming out of the front windows for some reason 0:41 Fire snorter crossing 0:53 So many bells and whistles in the interior and that sounds like a warning siren 1:21 still chugging even though it is snorting fire and breaking down
