How the eight future Pac-12 basketball programs have performed this year | Wichita St or St. Mary's?

Memphis absolutely needs to be the priority. They would set up the PAC very nicely and could bring a solid football school in Tulane over too. Hopefully media evaluation is finished by around the New Year's.

Memphis is waiting for their exit penalty to decrease. It was smart for them to wait one year before committing to the PAC-12 so that they would pay less in exit fees.

@@mercy1455 Not sure St. Mary's will get an invite, based on facilities. Their high school gym is the primary impediment to a basketball only membership (the bean counters have to be happy, before competitive factors come into play), and I don't think their other programs would justify an invite as a full, non-football member. Competitively, I would love to keep the rivalry alive, but I think the facilities are too big a hurdle and SMU has shown little to no interest in the scale of upgrade that would make this work.

You do know Memphis football is as strong as tulane right. They are ranked in football and basketball right now. We just beat tulane on their field and killed their CFP Hopes! Memphis has back 2 back 10 win seasons. And are bowling 11 years straight.

The new Pac-12 Basketball 🏀 would be currently Ranked the #3 Conference in average NET Rankings.

A healthy SDSU will be a definitely a Sweet 16 team and even a final 4 contender. Byrd and Compton were injured against Gonzaga but were available against Houston and they made a big difference. SDSU had the #1 SOS or #3 depending on the metric that you look at. No one else comes close.

All f1 schools are power college teams that's why there is a conference 2 and so on

In my opinion, the 🆕 PAC-12 🆕 should recruit basketball 🏀 only schools, ➡️ such as Grand Canyon and Saint Mary’s. Grand Canyon is trending 🆙 upwards 🆙 as a basketball 🏀 program and will continue to do so under Bryce Drew. Saint Mary’s has achieved annual top 🔝 thirty (or twenty in some years) status. For basketball 🏀 and football 🏈 schools, the 🆕 PAC-12 🆕 should recruit Nevada and UNLV. Nevada has had a traditionally good football 🏈 program for ➡️ a non-power conference school, and UNLV has the potential to reach a high level for both basketball 🏀 and football. 🏈 Zag 🆙 🏀

St marys gymnasium is a joke...4k capacity...sorry but without a massive upgrade their facilities don't make the grade. I've seen better venues at NAIA schools. Lol

Baylors new Arena seats 7500. But it's a legit Arena and I'm sure facilities are top notch. 7500-8k would be a good size for Gonzaga. But yeah I agree, they need the upgrade, not sure they can support it.

They won’t be a power conference but it will be far ahead of the MWC to think otherwise is delusional. In terms of revenue generation from basketball alone, it will be insane. Don’t take my work for it, look it up on the MWC pages that show revenue generation. Boise State and SDSU alone make up the vast majority. Boise State is a national football brand. SDSU and Gonzaga are established national basketball brands that generate lots of NCAA tournaments units. We also won’t have a lot of bottom feeders to divide the revenue.

Yeah unfortunately it's going to be the same old story for all the Pac12 teams when it comes to CFB or tournament basketball. The who have they played arguments.
