My mom died when she was 49, she was always beautiful and always always proud to say how old she was. She also lived life to the fullest, wrote two memiors along with many children's books and a romance novel, owned a biscotti and bath bomb business, shes my #1 inspiration, I live to make her proud, and I'll never feel too old, because it truly is a privilege to age.

Love this video. I am constantly told by my viewers that I am too old for shimmer eyeshadow or too old to wear this or that, it drives me crazy!!! I might be almost 50 but inside I am still the same person that I was in my 20s but more experienced, more confident and comfortable in my own skin, I would not want to go back to my teens or 20s. Actually my mom is huge inspiration for me. She was 35 when she had me, around 40 she started completely new career as a yoga instructor, before that she worked as a event manager...then..she divorced my abusive father and raised three children (I have two older brothers) on her own as a self employed person in country, where at that time was some kind of stigma surrounding yoga, selfdevelopment (anything not christian). She had to work hard. Her best years are now when she is in her 60s she is the most happiest, she is healthier than me. Her "life" started around 40.💜 Don't let anybody deceive you. You don't have an expiration date, you do you. 💪

I'm 23 and it always pains me to hear people in their 20s drag other age groups for being "old" its like hun, do u not realize you're gonna be there in like a decade? we're "old" for much longer than we're deemed "young" so this narrative of your early 20s being the peak benefits almost NO ONE

Completely agree. I'm 26 and I'm already comparing myself to women in their early twenties. They seem so much fresher and radiant. I'm noticing grey hairs already and some forehead wrinkles. But I just have to remind myself I was that age. they will be my age soon and the cycle continues no matter what we feel.

My grandma's my role model in this department... in her retirement she travelled the world (her favourite spot was Turkey, she also rode a donkey up a mountain somewhere, and somewhere else she went parasailing, has won garden of the year award in her town several times over (she doesn't have a front lawn... her entire front yard is a giant garden, as well as the sides of her house and the whole area around the backyard that's not her pool). She also has never used a computer before, not so much as touched it because she was scared of them, and then like 4 years ago she took the plunge and got an iPad and taught herself how to use Facebook so that she can keep up with our family abroad.

AH! dear all the 27 year olds commenting here...this was a great age! And I remember the INSAINE pressure I felt to "BE SOMEONE" by that age...honestly in this social media driven life it doesn't go away and I am 40! But I have learned, the hard way, that the only "be someone" I need to be is, the "be someone" I wanna be...and if everyone has a different "be someone" goal then my goal really is not theirs and vice versa... so we are all our own someones and we a the BEST at it...SO fall in love with you! that's how you get success faster...be madly in love with you...and love your faults firsts.

Every woman should hear this message! Believe me, this will have a positive effect on masses of women! I spoke my mind to the women I work with, who are in their 30's, who repeat the negative messages they hear. We watch the news while working, and they just sit and woman-shame every news anchor they see. I had to speak up. I asked, "Why do you speak negatively about another woman? That's woman-shaming. You will never hear a man talk bad about another man. Now, say something nice about her." They actually comply! I spoke up and made a difference and you will, too! Together, we will conquer this ugly lie the media wants women to believe. I'm 55, and proud of it! Yes, I'm insecure some days, but I like myself and I can do anything I want at this age. Keep being you, Sorelle. You're amazing and beautiful!

Age is definitely a state of mind. If you think young, you'll be young, All of life is a learning process... Each day we evolve & learn. I'm 51... I still collect new skills & do workshops in all kinds of things, wear short skirts, put glitter eyeshadow on, swim, surf, grow, take care of myself, invest in good grooming... I am rebellious, & free. The beauty of being my age; the older you get the less you give a crap what others think; in fact, the more powerful I've become... If this bothers you...I really feel sorry...

42 here! Never married, no kids, recently single. My fear has been that dating will be more difficult at this age. I broke it off with boyfriend of 3 years because he inappropriately crossed the boundaries with at 23 year old. I handled the situation with dignity but didn’t realize that this fed into my insecurity of aging. While together, I feared breaking up even when I should have because I feared dating while older. Now I left, I have to face this insecurity….., and that’s how I found this video (googled fear of getting older). Thanks for your message. I feel much better about having a “bad-ass” attitude about life at ANY AGE.

I've always announced my age because 1st Im proud of myself and I've heard countless stories from women about being depressed about not being married or having kids by insert age and it use it piss me off. I noticed that some men are starting to lie about their age and Its silly. I'm glad you addressed this because no one is saying much about it and it time to let that old way of thinking go. I say screw it, it's BECAUSE I'm older, I KNOW I don't have to be serious all the damn time!! Let's go and have fun discovering new things and interests in the world, woman!! 🥳❤️

I started feeling this way after Covid wrecked my body and left me with a terrible chronic illness. I feel like a shadow of my former self. And I’m in my 20s!! It’s been 2 years and I’m really starting to think what life will look like at 40 if I already have to deal with days at the time of being bed bound and unable to do anything at all, in pain, with severe brain fog preventing me from at least reading or enjoying a movie. It’s scary

What makes me feel better is thinking about being 80.. quick minded hopefully and not giving a damn about the 25 year old children scrutinizing the old. Because everyone I grew up with is also old, and everyone younger is literally like a kid to you. I’m 23 and I look at at 18-20 year olds as weirdly so much younger.

Yes like when you see a group of college kids and even though they are 21 they all just look like kids not full grown adults, almost look the same as high schoolers. I started noticing that in late 20s. When i look back at photos of me at that age i realize i looked more like an adolescent in early 20s

@@jamiewindsor Indeed. I'm 26. AND growing up I always thought that life starts at 30 and even 40. My parents had me later in life. My dad got his first job at 30. Started lifting weights at 45. Mom started running everyday at 50 and lost a lot of weight. They both never mentioned their age as an obstacle. They used it like a motivation "I have less years to live now. I should start moving and not lose any othet day". Also during my childhood I watched 80s and 70s movies and all the main actresses were in their 30s and 40s and were considered beauties. I really don't know how the world changed so quickly but it wasnt like this forever. People from my parents' era are the proof.

It's not unfair it's just men turn by aging. You got your chance when you were young. Now you get replaced by young girls. It is what it is. Female great time when young, miserable as they age. Men, miserable time when young, great time when old. Why should men care about old women? They didn't also care when they young by hypergamy... Its time to Date down. So true! Life begins again quite often. I also love getting older. We just sold everything to move to another country and start a completly different chapter in life. In my thirties I am learning new things (on sooo many subjects) every day! My biggest inspiration is my grandma, she never listened to what society think “old” people should be like. A lot of my friends (when I was a teenager) stopped by her house to chat with her, they all said she was “cool” and that they could not believe a grandma could be like that (=open minded, easy to talk to, funny, modern, ...).

I went back to school at 47 and became a registered nurse at 52. I am now 63 and it was the best thing I ever did. It amazed me that some people would ask me "don't you think you are too old to go back to school?" No, you are never to old to follow your dreams. Should I have stayed in a job I hated making low wages? I started a you tube channel at 60 and I am having so much fun. I learned to film, edit and post my own videos. So age means nothing. You are never to old or to young to do the things that challenge you and make you happy. Don't ever let someone else define you. Great video btw! Your mom sounds awesome!

Then when I hit my mid 40's and both of my parents were gone it's like well I now have nobody I can turn to. I was going through a divorce on top of it and left the US Arrmy after 12 years of service. I entered at an older age I was 33. So with the problems I had with my wife and our kids were still young we had in our mid to late 30's so I had a mountain of responsibility, I could not transition into a decent job due to age discrimmination and a tough economy too. I did transfer into the Army Reserves a Sergeant in order to continue service (now 45 years old) - and have some kind of a career. And my son is autistic low functioning and so my wife had to deal with it, and also our take care of daughter who was normal thank God. So my wife had to do a lot while I was working at what was now gig jobs and a Reservist a weekend a month. Our relationship grew more and more distant and I had to recover from being stabbed in the right arm by her. I had to have surgery in the back of the bicep area when the median artery is, and the nerve had to be checked for damage. So one good thing was I got 90 days of work, on orders at the Reserves when I asked if I could. We were separated I did not press charges on her because I was worried about our kids. A few months later she went to court for an assault charge and was given probation by the court. I remained on my own always supporting them financially and compromising my own life. The Dept.of The VA awarded me VA Compensation at a decent amount and financially helping us out greatly. I got the divorce and also finished 20 years of military service through the Reserves, I was 54 when I retired from there in 2018. Today I am in a local rock band as a bassist, I just recently got the gig, chasing a dream I had in the early 1980's when I was still a teen. Believe in a higher power, I was saying prayers to Jesus all the time over these years maybe because my mother always believed in Him and told me that prayers can work. Somehow, try to enjoy the challenges in your life, and work as hard as you can to achieve your dreams.
