How The Ford Probe Actually SAVED The Mustang

#dafobra, #mustang, #terminator In the early to mid 1980's, Ford started to plan for the next generation Mustang. They wanted something more modern, more fuel efficient and front wheel drive.. They got it, but the Mustang community didn't.
After all was said and done, here is how the Ford Probe saved the Mustang.

We dodged a bullet on that one.....close call. Although the 94 Mustang GT was not a banger it was much better than a Probe

At least it was RWD and a V8.. that's all the people wanted. The improvements made to the 94 Mustang were actually perfect for the time.. yeah they were still not fast enough for the F bodies, but they did capture the market and the marketing was on point.

The Probe seems like the perfect sleeper build. 😸Remember the Eagle Talon? The probe and talon always had a good place in the car scene though... Just something different and had potential. ❤This is what it feels like to be older than most.

Remember it? I wanted a Talon TSI.. lol those DSM cars were quick for back then and were almost exotic. I had a buddy with a mid to late 90s Probe GT with the V6.. was a really nice car... but to the Mustang crowd it was never acceptable.

It also saved other pony cars as well as V8 rear wheel drive sports cars. Who knows if they ever would have come back.

that's true! The Camaro, Challenger and Charger all owe a bit of debt to the Mustang enthusiasts.. DSM and Chrysler were all into the FWD scene..

they were and still are cool cars.. I saw one (standard non turbo 4) at a show last year and it was so cool to see.
