How The Government Covered Up The Existance Of Living Dinosaurs - Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park

While the original film adaptation to Crichton's first novel was more or less a faithful rendition of his incredible work, the second movie Spielberg made, was radically different
to what the author had penned as its sequel. By now, its well-known that the Doctor channeled Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's book of the same name when he created his own Lost World,
but the exact events that transpired in Crichton's follow-up have become relatively unspoken of in recent years. Many of the characters within this novel are different to what we
would get with its film version, and an earlier chapter featuring one of them happens to tell a very intriguing story about how Spanish-speaking governments dealt with the
consequences of John Hammond's Jurassic Park.
This took a LONG time to edit so the tags shall be Jurassic Park 2 Book and Michael Crichton Jurassic Park as well as the obvious Michael Crichton The Lost World as well because this is a book called The Lost World Novel and its usually named as the Jurassic Park 2 Book so these keywords should do just fine. Now my personal The Lost World Nostalgia has little to do with this Jurassic Park Novel and more to do with the Genetically Engineered Dinosaurs that were apart of this Government Cover Up like the aforementioned Ornitholestes from InGen Site B on the island! Now some of these are Camouflage Dinosaurs and of course all of them are Living Dinosaurs but with Isla Sorna Site B having the tag line Something Has Survived I'm sure we can all thank Richard Levine for going there for us. So another good tag is Government Dinosaurs and The Lost World Jurassic Park Book should be read before seeing Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom Isla Sorna because I have a feeling that Jurassic Park Site B may be apart of the movie with Dinosaurs Still Alive as its motif...only I don't believe that at all and I really just want to sleep! :D

Someone finding a strange reptilian carcass and then special units coming to burn it to reveal a fiery dinosaur skeleton would be such an amazing visual to see in a movie, maybe as an opening scene.

Personally, I liked the second book more than I liked the second film. It's plot was so much better, and it covered the one loose end of the original novel that was never picked up in the film, and that the one with Biosyn continuing to get their hands on the dino DNA. After the work that Dodgson did to bribe Nedry into stealing the embryos only for Nedry to fail and meet his demise by the Dilophosaurus, do you really think that he would have just shrug it off and not try to come up with another plan, or do you think that he would at least have a few plans up his sleeve just to retrieve the DNA? Even though _Jurassic Park: The Game_ has some issues, at least the story was great, and it shed some more light on the storythread. Hell, I think if Telltale Games made a sequel to that game, then they would have at least resolve that storyline before the events of _Jurassic World_ take place.

I actually liked the book even more than the movie. The insights it shares about the raptors, the camouflaging ability of some of the species, parenting behaviour of the T-Rexes etc are very interesting. And the dark, almost-horror like tone makes you feel like you're there on the island yourself, defenseless and being watched by a predator. It was quite thrilling.

This is one element of the book that I also think gets over looked a lot. There is a lot of mystery here and it's pretty intriguing. With the escaped animals, bodies of dinosaurs washing up on beaches and the government cover up. There is a lot to work with, especially if it's done right. No I don't mean a T-Rex running through San Diego. In The Lost Word Gutierrez says that some animals had been discovered living in the mountains near soy bean farms. That crops that were rich in lysine were being eaten by some unknown animals. This is all very interesting but sadly none of the movies have ever used it. No Jurassic Park media has used it to my knowledge. I wished Frontier would find a way to fit it into JWE. Escaped animals on the main land can be a pretty good story, if it's done right. I don't mean as a cheesy concept like Snakes on a Plane where the snakes are replaced with a Dinosaurs and the plane is replaced with some city.

Jurssic Park 3 was originally going to use it and the entire idea was kept until a few weeks before filming began. They then scrapped the whole plot for being "too complex" and stuck to the "rescue mission" story.

I want to tell you a funny story. I was reading Jurassic Park a couple years ago and my cousin (the mail man) took the day off and a Jurassic Park jeep with a closed top delivered the mail as I stopped reading to look out the window to see if it was the mail. Then just the other day at work(medical transport) I was reading The Lost World while my passenger was seeing the doctor and someone at the Portland hospital drove by in a Jurassic Park car. This seriously happened twice. Life ah finds a way.

Hey man, love your videos. I'm a Costa Rican and I have some fun facts. 1. Costa Rica doesn't have any kind of military forces. I like that they didn't bomb the island in the movie because in the real world it would be impossible. 2. In the movie they show San José as a beach. San José is the capital of the country and is far from the beach. Is fun to notice that kind of mistakes.

@@KlaytonFioriti, he should’ve taken that out, that almost ruined the novel for me. It just felt like a contradiction that they could just nuke the island and get rid of the dinosaurs, recalling a new form of life or preventing life from breaking free, containing life. He should’ve just wrote it so that the island was restricted, similar to what they did in “Jurassic Park III” with Isla Sorna.

Personally I enjoyed the second book more than I did the movie at first, heaving read the book before seeing the movie. It took me a while to accept the different direction the movie had taken, but eventually I got to love movie too. It's too good not to love :) There's just so much more in the book that (of course) didn't make it into the movie, like the scene you just described and so much history behind Jurassic Park. The missing parts of both books are what inspired me to write other Jurassic Park stories, like Extinction Level now. For those heaving read the books, these scenes might be recognizable.

Good video, as always. I find that so many people know that Jurassic Park is a book, but it seems like not as many know that The Lost World is also a book by Michael Crichton. I even remember someone saying once that the second movie was named for Arthur Conan Doyle's book, which I guess is a little true in a roundabout way, but isn't really the reason why the second movie was given its name.

There are a few that are dinosaur looking. And some that aren't but are probably inspired by extinct animals. Just Google search Fossil Pokemon. In their Pokedex intros. We will see what I think after reading the first JP book if I can get my hans on the sequel. Sounds really intresting. Sadly when I hear what they brught up here and the tone of it all. They won´t make the movies like this, it´s to serious, the goverment conspiracy, the best timing whould have been around the time TLW and JP 3 was made. I mean I do think Fallen Kingdom looks enjoyable but I do think it will mostly be running action adventure with Owen acting like a main character in Dino Crisis, I don´t expect much from Ingen or any company or organisation. BUT if they do I will be pleasently suprised. Like if there is a group trying to stop Owen from saving the dinosaurs.

A new species of Velociraptor? I suppose Dromeosaurids is too hard to say. Dromeosaur is the class of dinosaur Velociraptor belongs to. But everyone knows that. I just thought it was weird when the man said “A new species of Velociraptor.”

Technically you can say "a new species of Velociraptor"", though "sub-genus" would be a better term. There are different "types" of several dinosaurs, so maybe Roxton thought what he found might be a hitherto undiscovered type of Velociraptor.

If you did a full reading of both or at least one of the books thatd be amazing. You could do it chapter by chapter with a short review or something at the end. I know u probably wont but still its be amazing.

The Lost World novel gave me nightmares as an adult, as much as the movie as a child.

I never liked the bombing of the Dinosaurs or the random virus thing they revealed is it’s sequel. It kind of contradicts the whole “You cannot recall a new life form”, “life finds a way”, and especially “nature cannot be contained”. Favorite to Least Favorite: - Jurassic Park (movie, has loads of issues that are fixed in the book but the characters (most of them) are written better in the film) - The Lost World: Jurassic Park (it has a T-Rex going Godzilla on a city, where’s that in the novel) - Jurassic World (only by a margin, it was the first Jurassic movie I ever saw in theaters as the third film came out the year I was born, I didn’t even know it existed until I was like 9 to 12 or 13 years-old and saw a copy of it at Costco and then finding it on Netflix; before hand I had only seen the first two) - Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park - Michael Crichton’s The Lost World - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Jurassic World: Dominion - Jurassic Park III - Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (maybe because I’m a fan of Alan Grant, it goes below these two) 1. Jurassic Park 2. The Lost World: Jurassic Park 3. Jurassic World 4. Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park 5. Michael Crichton’s The Lost World 6. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 7. Battle at Big Rock 8. Jurassic World: Dominion 9. Jurassic Park III 10. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

The 2nd movie was the 1st one I saw... I read the first novel without even realising it (I read it much later and realised I already read it) and I love all of it =)
