Spoken like someone who's never been to Beijing, New York and Chicago are absolutely filthy in comparison. The ignorance of your delusion is funny, Dubai, Singapore and Shanghai are the mist advanced cities in Asia now, Tokyo fell off a while ago

Pity she did not tour the Metro - even a decade ago parts were iffy and the trains rough ....other ways there was still beauty.....

OK, fine, so what are the voters doing in response? If things are so bad, don't the politicians in charge risk being thrown out? They jettisoned the Socialist party on the national level in favour of En Marche and Macron, so anything is possible. Would have appreciated a bit on that.

The mayor barely got re-elected just after the first covid wave with a 65% abstention, literally the biggest democratic joke ever
@@sglucatony Exactly what Justin Trudeau did in Canada. Called a snap election during lockdowns. Less than 30% of eligible voters showed up, and of that 30%, 1/3rd voted for trudeau. In other words, Trudeau has supreme power over Canada, with 10% of the eligible vote.

Good work! Snappy, to the point, instructive, brief. The DT could take a look at NYC and San Francisco. London doesn't seem quite so bad yet.

Bike lanes were a big criticism of the recent, not current, mayor in my state's largest city. A friend of mine frequently complains about cyclists when driving as well.

Went there 10 years ago. Messy then, seemed very down market compared with London. Still some great sights but noticeably poorer than other cities in Europe but what else is expected of a country where people work few hours.

My country is ruled for years by traitors. Their goal is to destroy France. And many laws (as 35h a weak for example) are made for it. Too long to explain.

I'm from the young U.S. and I never got that impression of Paris in the 10x or so that I've been going there since 1995. And yet I've never actually lived in a dense city like Paris--always a suburban community, as most Americans live in. Now I did see some ugly corners and even unattractive neighborhoods in Paris, especially in the northeast (especially the 18th), but for every unattractive corner or neighborhood I saw twice or 3x the opposite. I haven't been since the pandemic so it sounds like things have changed for the worse, but I found many parts of Paris to be beautiful and even very "upmarket" 10 years ago.
