for anyone wondering why its negative its cuz the level is overflooded with time boxes and when u finish the level, all of the paused time will get added to your overall score making it negative. Also tip for the crimson factory, just SPAM X on the jetpack transformation

@@LimeyPlushGuy each box according to my observations will either: A) pause the timer for 1-3 seconds according to their number B) remove 1-3 seconds according to number ONLY when you enter the elevator while the time is paused

Much like in a few crash bandicoot games, as well as CTR, it's possible to get negative times by grabbing enough time crates in quick succession, and reaching the goal with enough frozen time to spare. In CTR 99' specifically, it could actually cause abnormal number values if you were ridiculously fast enough, especially if you get the all crates bonus of -10. Though so far I've only seen TAS achieve these kinds of times.

Ok, so here’s the reason you got a negative time in the level. If the timer’s still paused when you reach the exit, the game will compensate for that by decreasing the timer by however long it was still going to be paused for. Since you had so much pausing time built up from all the time crates, the timer got decreased down so much it went to the negatives. Anyway, Crimson Factory is pretty tough. Not something like the likes of Pinball Mire, but still tough.
