Can I just say thank you! I have the M3 Hub coming this weekend and want to bind it with my Hue hub to use all my Hue stuff in the Aqara app. You are the first person to show how that's done. Maybe it's a well known thing, but I had no idea until I watched your video.

Yup. All much better solutions. I personally use Home Assistant running on a PI.

For me all Aqara child devices works only with Apple Home Kit. Both Smartthings and Google Home works only with Aqara Door sensor, Temp sensor and Plug EU. Wall Light switches, leak sensor doesn't work. And I used all Aqara HUBs - no progress :(

very confused 🙋‍♂️ is the thread border router the same as the aqara m3 hub?

The Aqara M3 can act as a thread border router. It like your wifi in your house that your service provider gives you. That box can do wifi as well as other things. So your wireless phones can connect wirelessly to it to connect to the internet. Similar concept with the Aqara M3. It can do other things and can also act as a thread border router for thread devices to connect. I hope that kind of makes sense.

My SmartThings wont connect to my aqara m3. I get a "prepare device" and then a "cant find device" message when i scan qr or manually input matter code . Its connected to the aqara app

Did you generate a new QR code within the aqara app ? You can’t use the QR code in the body of the M3 to connect to the SmartThings
