I would have given my life to save those kids, but instead of recognizing that, the knee jerk reaction was to launch attacks on me. Their assessment is incorrect. if I took the same ban or control position, I could just as easily say: "kids die in that school, so let's ban that school, or completely eliminate that school." and if they say they "No, we need that school", I can respond and say "What about the children? Don't you care about the children?" It's not rational and thought out to blame the school, but it's also not rational to blame guns, especially when guns are used over 3 million times a year to save lives. That's three million people that would have been beaten, raped, stabbed, clubbed, kidnapped, etc. What about those three million people? Don't you care about them?
