@@mcslog I mean, they’ve got one hit and then shot a f ton back in retaliation. I’d be ‘bummed’ too, if I heard how they didn’t even hit once, that’s a cynic euphemism btw, that, plus the massive adrenline rush equals this reaction. I wouldn’t ascribe to this the intent of mocking, even though it comes across as shocking for everyone at home, having already heard the full story, usually even beginning with the tragic resolution.

@isg2015
@isg2015 3 жыл бұрын
@@amandagold2648 I doubt that "you have the same first name" is any reason for having a similar opinion. Regardless, it's not good policing. It's absolutely terrible. In fact, it's entirely outside of any reasonable justification to talk down to a detained man. She fails her own department's mission statement. Emotional policing is terrible policing. I do not care if she had that readied in her head and she didn't mean to say it in relation to her death. I do not care if she was heated because of what happened. A good peace officer responds with a steady head and professionalism at all times. You cannot convince me that any of this except for the SWAT officers were actually serving the community with the department's values and general professionalism in mind. It's her job to be equitable, respectful, aware, and objective. She responds emotionally and ridiculously to a man who's already surrendered himself and is detained. "And the punk who she has just shot someone she works with, do you really think she’s not upset ." DO YOU REALLY THINK HE ISN'T? After watching his girlfriend bleed out next to him. He's a law abiding citizen. Not a "punk" as you say. He's entirely shattered. Imagine sleeping by your loved one and 3 minutes later she's dead on the floor right next to you. Imagine that. But the peace officer gets a pass with her unprofessional responses while Kenneth Walker ( a man who has no charges against him, a man who is a legal gun owner, who showed more tact in an unknown situation than the officers by shooting to wound unknown gunmen, and who had to watch his loved one die) gets labeled as a "punk". Very logical.

If you're at home watching TV at 12:00AM, it's plausible to not notice/pay any mind to a group of 7 people outside, So you're left with loud knocking at your door with no responses followed by some silhouettes (TV and an outside lamp were the only light sources) breaking down your door. I'm more surprised Walker restrained himself to shoot only once if you ask me.

The police didn’t announce their presence, and in the state of Kentucky, you have the right to use deadly force on an intruder. Yeah, I noted that as well, that’s fcked up. Something like that is never okay in any situation, even if he was a criminal, which he doesn’t even seem to be. I get that some dangers and mistakes comes with a job, surgeons/doctors lose patients occasionally, and police makes mistakes too. The difference is whether those mistakes could have been prevented, and what the intentions befind an action were. And it’s obvious in this situation that this could have prevented, that the cops bade inexcusable mistakes, and that they acted with an intention to hurt the victims, especially with that comment. I’m not going to say that they deserve live time or something like that, since not all of the officers might be at fault. But the case needs to be investigated more thoroughly, and some punishment has to be given for the mistakes, so that we do not condone that such mistakes are done again. Letting them off free is just telling them, that others can make the same dumb mistakes, which might lead to the loss of lives, with no consequence at all.

What I don't understand is how you do not think someone is automatically going to defend their home, when they have no company coming over at 12:40am, the entire apartment is dark except a tv and you don't hear a bunch of people inside. You burst open their door and they can see lights, guns, shadowy figures of multiple cops, etc. Even if I'm allowed to answer my door, it takes one cop to say the word "gun" and I'm as good as dead. If I am not expecting company after midnight and you knock and bang on my door multiple times, I am going to be prepared with my licensed gun. Period. And lets all act like race isn't a factor. They see a black man accused of drugs in the past or present and immediately go to thinking their must be a bunch of black people in this house with guns and drugs and the whole time, it was the house of a nurse with zero drugs on the property and a new boyfriend who was protecting himself and his girlfriend as was his right.

I used to be advocate for the BLM movement, but the facts support the police. Breonna Taylor’s previous boyfriend Jamarcus Glover is a criminal dealer who used her home address for deliveries. She was in business with Jamarcus Glover and other criminals, so there was a no knock warrant for her address (they linked Breonna to known criminals and spotted her vehicle near a suspected drug house). The police officers KNOCKED and announced themselves despite it being a no knock warrant (there’s a witness). The police officers go into the home after not hearing back and are immediately shot at by her new boyfriend Kenneth Walker. Walker shot one of the officers in the leg. The officers were forced to fire back. Unfortunately and tragically Breonna Taylor got caught in the crossfire. She was not shot in her bed execution style, but was standing in the hallway. Walker knew that his gf was standing in the hallway unarmed and defenseless, but fired anyways. The officer that was indicted was for recklessly shooting a different neighbor’s home during the altercation
