Games aren't supposed to be hyper realistic but fun which nintendo has proved to be true in most cases, I was a big PS fanboy and got bored pretty quickly by great graphics but poor gameplay, playing mario 64, metroid, botw changed my perspective and made me have fun with games again and switch may be less powerful but it handles exclusives very well and durable and portable.

I get that. I’ve always been a Nintendo fan for my entire life and not much of anything else bc Nintendo games are actually fun. Yeah for me there’s some exceptions like final fantasy 7 and other stuff tho. I just have concern over the future of Nintendo and I don’t think the switch is the way anymore, especially if they are gonna do like switch 3, 4, etc.

i got switch oled i love switch but i wist it was stronger. sometimes i want to play other type of games... resident evil 2 remake or village... so my point is why not both???

Making the Switch the 3DS is a bad move. They already consolidated their development teams and splitting them up again would cause more problem than benefit. The switch got games that we usually get for handhelds only, putting their games under one hardware is the better choice for them

Good point really. End of the day, I think nintendo will regret making a switch 2 and if they decide to stick to the switch formula.

Having your ultimate form means no inovation ds had dual touch screen wii motion controls which set it apart from just another console with more graphical fidelity and presentation (xbox PlayStation which is killing gaming) rather than art direction quality and making a game fun.

The 2nd reason is definitely something nintendo should be thinking about. The menu and no music.... idk how that will cause the downfall. You can survive without it

I'm still not convinced that the Switch 2 is even a real thing. Whatever Nintendo's next console is, it's not going to be another Switch, it's most likely going to be something completely different. Less "Wii > Wii U" and more "SNES > N64"

I sure hope so, something about Nintendo home consoles are just the best. I think I'm the only person who thinks the wii u is the best console.

The Switch isnt even the downfall of Nintendo, the Wii U was the downfall. Not only did the Wii U sold poorly, but the gamepad is a horrible idea for a gimmick, that it made people think that the Wii U was an accessory for the Wii. Not only that, sure there were quality games in the Wii U, such as DKC Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World, Smash 4, Wind Waker HD, Yoshi's Wolly World, Splatoon, Mario Maker, and then there were bad ones like Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, Star Fox 0, Mario Party 10, Paper Mario Color Splash. 2015-2016 felt like the years that Nintendo stopped putting quality games anymore despite the Wii U's failure, and not to mention, most games used a very similar engine to the 3DS game, or they got ported to the 3DS as well, games like Smash 4, Yoshi's Wolly World, Mario Maker, Paper Mario Sticker Star and Paper Mario Color Splash, Mario 3D Land and 3D World, NSMB2 and NSMBU, and I can keep going on with this list. Thats another cause of the Wii U's failure, a lot of the games were already ported to the 3DS or used a very similar engine, so it made people question "Is it worth getting a Wii U if I can already play a lot of those games on the 3DS?". It felt like Nintendo were struggling comming up with ideas, and the 3DS may just be the reason why the Wii U failed, I mean just look at the amount of 3DS's sold compared to the Wii U.

The Wii U can't be the downfall of Nintendo if they clawed it back with the Switch, most of the quality games have been ported and have outsold the Wii U. The problem with the Switch is it's too good, so will the successor be as successful?

@@CeasiusC Hopefully, the Switch was a success, and to prevent failure, Nintendo is going hybrid now. The Switch 2 is the most anticipated console as of the next gen, plus Nintendo learned so much from the Wii U era and how to prevent failure. Altough the question is how is Nintendo gonna top Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 🤔

I still don't think we need a switch 2 I'm perfectly happy with the orginal, though I would be fine with a special dock that provides more power kinda like back in the day with the 32x for example but it would probably be just for 3rd parties to use I'd still want 1st party to run on basic hardware, I have no problem with nintendo doing switch2 and on because that's basically what the xbox and playstation consoles are but they don't offer mobile features like switch and I wouldn't want them to be separated again that just means having to waste more money and have less games on each hardware, and I had no idea the 3ds was it's own thing till way later but I knew what the wiiu was so that is a problem for them to face people not knowing what it is which is why I think just a dock that adds power would be a smarter decision

Good point. I do think a more powerful switch with actual better console features would do well but I do if they keep on doing the switch 2,3,4,etc, the sales will fall massively.

Nintendo was always known for having hardware behind the times and the switch was a doom moment for this with the form factor. However, modern trends show that gamers don't want their game library fractured between home and on the go, with the Switch being hugely popular, followed by heavy competition from the Steam Deck and similar PC based consoles. Even with the Xbox and PlayStation audience, cloud play is becoming a core part of their business model. Maybe the hybrid format could be the future, but it could always be accompanied by a more powerful home console that can run the same games at higher settings.

yeah the newer docks need to be a type of eGPU imo, where it will give extra power to the system in docked mode (instead of just increasing the clock speed of things like the current switch+dock does)
