the stronger the spring the longer you stay in a lower gear, the better spring desgn means no distortion and even spring force.

Hey, i try many times with my 110cc scooter and have some result, with same performance: -stock: 14g roller, 1000rpm clutch spring, 1000rpm contra spring. -16g roller, 1200rpm clutch spring, 1500rpm contra spring - 12g roller with modified front pulley (13.5 degree, stock 14deg), 1200rpm clutch spring, 1500rpm contra spring. So i think if your engine high torque, you must use high tension contra spring to keep the belt no slip. After that you choose the roller: the more heavy the more top speed but low take off speed. But you can not use too light roller because your bike never shift to highest gear, and when off throttle, the belt may slip and vibrate. Try false to choose the optimal roller weight. The clutch spring depend on your clutch shoe size and material: the more friction, the more rpm clutch spring to avoid engine overload. Remember: CVT coefficient only 30-40% engine power.

Hi martin, you mean you need heavier flyball if you increase the rpm of center spring? My flyball was 11g before and the center spring was upgraded from 1k to 1.5k and now have 10g flyball, is that correct?

Hi, i have 2 different brands of contra spring (torque spring) but both are 1000rpm. The difference between them is 1 is shorter than the other. is there any difference in performance? Will they react differently? T.i.a..

Can anybody say which springs are stiffer..? 1000, 1500 or 2000rpm. And, with 2000rpm springs set, would be better heavy or lighter sliders.? (For end speed) Thanks

what center spring and clutch spring rpm is good for 110cc 4t stock engine? I have aftermarket variator and df and 7 - 9 rollers. I wanna upgrade moooore but I must stay on stock engine as long as I could for some reasons.

you can upgrade cvrt but engine just stay for daily use. bore up engine tend to be short like engine oil need to be change immediately

My scooter stock sprint is 800rpm Then we have 1000rpm 1500rpm and 2000rpm springs If I change to harder spring does my rpm increase before clutch engagement? Let’s say My take off is now at about 6000rpm Wide open throttle and increasing. On 800rpm clutch spring If I change to 1000rpm clutch spring will my take off rpm increase to 6200rpm?

Clutch springs are all identified by their colors, so no it's not your preference of color's please! All CVT clutches all use different color springs for their spring pressure I.D. Now to make it even more complicated, they have primary and secondary springs with Dual colors as well like a Blue/Green with the main color being blue with a green stripe down the coils. These are identification color's that companies like Polaris, Yamaha, Kawasaki and the main clutch builder of the better CVT designs and oldest company around Comet Industries. If you look up from the manufacturer of the CVT you have, there should be a chart that tells you what your roller weights are and what springs go with what rollers, and the same applies for the secondary pulley in the back which also utilizes a different type of spring from the primary. If you change one spring you more than likely fix one area but screw up other places like the shift points or not getting full belt movement into the secondary pulley if you have too little weight of the rollers and too much spring pressure, thus meaning the primary clutch won't close all the way because the weights can not overcome the spring pressures of the primary. So yes there's WAY more than meets the eye when it comes to properly tuning a CVT clutch properly, believe me, I have a bit of experience in this field tuning all kinds of CVT systems. Please do yourself a favor and do some more research on this subject matter. It's not a cut and dry answer to just tossing in a spring or lighter weights. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction to changing something in these systems. Like I said ya may have a better stall speed engagement at a higher rpm but you now need to be sure it's holding out your shift points or dumping it right into overdrive or for that matter..... even getting to the point of full belt transfer and you still have full overdrive for this matter. When you setup a CVT to the engine and the machine it's on, a lot of factors come into play, like what rpm window the engine is starting to make its power and where it peaks out so you keep the rpms within this window of its power band. The other is the amount of weight of the machine plus it's passenger loads! Gas and anything else you might be adding additional weight to for an overall weight. The final drive, or in other words.....a gear reduction box, does it have one? Or does it not? Tire diameters, example if you have your clutch tuned for a certain tire diameter and you go changing wheel's to a bigger or smaller tire diameter now you've changed the amount of torque needed to overcome or not via the CVT thus changing its behavior throughout the engagement rpms cycle. So yeah I'm sorry to say something, I'm not doing this to piss you off by any means, but I'm trying to educate you about how these things work. Some people think their just magic in a box and others understand enough to make things worse than they were before by just throwing unmatched parts at them wasting time and lots of money with a system that's worse off than it was beforehand. Just take a look into all the information on KZbin here all about the CVT system's and how they work and respond to different situations. If you could get a chart from the clutch manufacture that be even better, this will give you a much better idea of what springs to use together with what weights to get your desired outcomes. I know Comet industries has quite a few depending on what model of clutch you have or are running. IDK if yours is a comet or not? But a lot of Chinese manufactures have copied the comet clutches so you may have to go by pics and match them up via eye? Good luck and I hope this helps explain a little bit better on what's going on and how these things work? Have a good night, Jim.
