Why? We've known for years now that there is no evidence AMBER alerts have ever saved any kid and a study done at Uni. Reno over 5 years ago showed the entire thing amounts to little more than "crime-control-theater". @@xadam2dudex Local and Nation distinction has no relevance because it is the same system with the only difference being the way the alert is sent to make it local v. national and who (State or Federal officials) have access to the different sending options. Think of it like company email, you can make groups, individuals and company wide emails... Its still the same email system. The same think applies with the alert system with the only exception being who can send what which determines where it goes. The point being is its coming from Gov't official (be it State or Federal) and they fail to send when necessary all to often and thus shouldn't be trusted.

there's no difference between presidential or national alert, no official FEMA designation for a difference between them either, just listed as "presidential alert", the last time this happened was around four-fiveish years ago, and it was also titled "presidential alert". it's just phrased differently than as to what you might expect it to normally be "national" there are five levels, presidential [national], imminent threat [area], public safety alerts [area as well, just before or after an imminent threat warning], amber alerts and tests. hope this helped

At one time we had silos here with nuclear weapons loaded under ground then in the early 70’s they built their first nuclear power plant. Sirens also notify of impending weather. Our country use to have tv 📺 warnings test every week

I have multiple phones (unfortunately) because of work, plus personal, etc. and I took different steps to avoid this alert on each one to see what worked and what didn't, just out of curiosity. Simply putting the phone into airplane mode worked just fine -no alert. Airplane mode but on wi-fi only also worked. So did putting fully operational phone in a commercially available RFID blocking bag. Putting phone in home microwave (not turned on 🤣, funny that I even feel the need to say that) also worked. No phone alerted at all. Do I think this was part of some vast conspiracy? Not necessarily. I just like to mess around with technology and wanted to experiment.
