Many years ago I asked the universe for £50,000. Not long after that my husband died leaving me with a distraught teenager and no money. I couldn’t afford my bills so I sold up and moved up north to a cheaper area. I stayed with a friend for a while then managed to buy a little rundown house for £35,000. I worked hard and did it up and sold it after a year for £95,000. It was a while before I remembered what I’d asked for…. 🤔

Yeah! I've asked the Universe (my subconscious) where is my little hammer with the blue rubber handle? When I'm done with a tool, I hang it up where it belongs. But it's not there. It's not even on my work table. Usually, when I lose or misplace something, I ask my subconscious to lead me to it. And it always does. One month later 3/22/23: No hammer. Why? I think I figured it out. I asked where this hammer is. I said, "It's not there." (I just confirmed that my hammer isn't there). The Universe accepted that my hammer isn't there. So, how do I find my hammer? What do I say?: "I find it."? "It is hanging where it should be."? Or should I just go about my daily activities, and forget about it? It will eventually show up when I least expect it. What about my other questions? Is (my SP) attracted to me in spite of my age and being unattractive? I am grateful for our present relationship as it is. I desire what is best for her. What about money? I am grateful for always having more than enough. I thank the Universe for my prosperity. Everything comes MY way. And I'm grateful. My seeming impossible good, now comes to pass. The unexpected now happens. Endless Good now comes to me in endless ways. What I receive is greater than what I imagined. I want a new "Whatever".

Having both lived as a Buddhist monk and meditated 8h/day on average for several years my point of view is that the whole idea of no I or person is more of an intellectual way of trying to understand an experience that one can experience when observing the sense of self. What is lost is this sense of self, notice I didnt say self, I said sense of self. Saying there is no I or I is an illusion is simply trying to use words to explain to someone who has not experienced this to help them understand. In my opinion this today creates more confusion and problems for people practicing meditation since they are trying to understand something when what they should really do is focus on this sense of self for long enough and then they'd see how that can dissolve and they would experience non duality. The more intelectually we try to understand or especially discuss it, the further away from experiencing it you'll be. Atleast this is how I've come to see it.

Why not just say God? That is what you are describing anyway. The Universe itself is also a created thing. Why ask a created thing for something when you can ask the Creator of everything?

Many religions and spiritual wisdoms have different views of what is supreme, which is referred to as either God, Higher Self, the Creator, the Universe, etc. Basically, these are all designations for one and the same thing. Your opinion that God is the creator of the universe is one theory among many others. I respect every point of view, even if I have a different view of it. Anyway, it's about how we can connect with the highest authority to make our lives more beautiful. Thank you for your comment!
