The lady says that Xinjiang is historically non-China. But unearthed antiques from as remote as Han Dynasty (206BC-AD220) say otherwise. In his report to the emperor of Qing Dynasty, General Zuo Zongtang said "“他族逼处，故土新归”. "故土“ means “historically our own land” and "新归" means "newly returned". Xinjiang literally means that "newly returned piece of our own land that were taken away from us by other ethnic groups". What we call Xinjiang now was under the rule of Junggars/Zungars and Uyghurs were their slaves before General Zuo Zongtang took back this piece of land. The reason why emperor Qianlong finally decided to take back Xinjiang is that the Junggars/Zungars' rule was so bloody there and Uyghurs sent one after another secret report to Qianlong, pleading for help. There's never a country called East Turkistan. The term was coined by foreign agents and Uyghur seperatists in the early 20th century. Generally, internet platforms are good. But to learn proper history, you need to go to the library and view accurate historical documents. We side with Palestinians in their fight for their own country. Sadly, you people side with western propoganda.

Xinjiang belonged to the mongol people called dzungar who were tributary state to qing China back in 16th to 17th century, but they rebelled and mounted raids and killing uyghur and han civilians in Western China. The qing emperor kangxi to qianlong had no choice but to mount multiple punitive strikes to defeat the dzungar and pacify the land by incorporating into the qing empire, thereby saving the uyghur and han people from further massacre from the mongol dzungar

The Turkish group is not the native group from Xinjiang. The Han Chinese have been living since longtime in Xinjiang even before the Turkish group came. The Turkic group migrated from Mongolia and Siberia to Xinjiang later on, then mixed with Han Chinese who were and persian group people, both ethnic groups have settled down there before thé Turkics. Later on these mixed ethnic group mix again with Mongols and other Siberian group. The name of Eastern Turkistan was given by Russia around 19th century although Xinjiang was China's. Russia did it for political reason, because Russia targetted on Xinjiang, and was eager to take it from China. Russia used to play in central Asia and supported uygur rebellions against the Chinese Empire.

My ancestors were from the (East) Turkestan region a long time ago and then they’re now settled in Southeast Asia. East Turkestan used to be our old land but we have learned a lot of history from our ancestors. Before my ancestors lived in East Turkistan they were from Mongolia region.

From my father side I'm from Afshar tribe of Oghuz clan but i know that we come from Arghun Khan from my fatherside which he was the Khan of Ilkhanate dynasty which Ilkhanates are also from Mongol Empire royalty just like Chagatai Khanate. Ilkhanate's founder is Hülagü Khan and Chagatai Khanate's founder is Chagatai Khan. More ethnic groups were settled there and there was a fighting between dynasties. My ancestors were lost their land and controlled by other dynasties and their kingdoms were taken over by their enemies. Also, their own language was stolen by others and they cannot study their language like alphabet for a long period before the Anglo-Burmese wars.

Our ancestors, however, settled in Southeast Asia (Myanmar/Thailand) under the control of other people. There were mafia rebel groups and the regime government who fought our people. No one recognizes us as a nation when we stand up. During British colonization, our people were called Karen tribes, pronounce as "Ka'ren". Using Google or KZbin, you can find a group of Karen people and see their culture and history. As Southeast Asians, we have a rich and unique culture.

Many things are true but sadly many have been false information. “XinJiang” doesn’t mean “New Frontier”. That’s a translation error. It means territory that goes back to home. Uyghur haven’t been indigenous to that land, as they’ve also been nomadic. So I feel like it leads to nowhere asking to whom the land belongs as both entities don’t have any factual claim on it. So using big words like “colonization” is far from the truth. And also diminished the real and horrible atrocities western colonial forces did. Anyway, now that that’s been established: the real question is, how do we manage to live peacefully together? I think the policies and opportunities and funding into building the region has shown how peaceful living has gotten. Only the ones who claim this land and wanna separate not due to facts but ideology are the problem. Like the woman in the video.

To be clear, this 'new territory' was named such in the 1750s by the Manchu Qing dynasty and has been an incorporated part of China since then. But Xinjiang was a part of China during the Yuan dynasty as well from the 14th to 16th century, and was a Chinese client state as far back as the Han dynasty in the 1st century CE. There has never been a recognised state called 'East Turkistan', only two rebellions which only claimed small border territories of Xinjiang lasting 6 years in total. There is no popular mass movement for an independent 'East Turkistan' within Xinjiang, with the terrorist group 'East Turkistan Islamic Party' losing all momentum after a few terror attacks in the 2010s. The main groups pushing the 'East Turkistan' line today are Western think tanks and politicians, not Uyghur Chinese themselves.
