I learned about Chef AJ when I was doing an online program with Dr. Wil Bulsiewicz about eating a variety of fruits and vegetables. I had put on weight over the last two years with snacking and being at home more with Covid shutdowns. I’ve struggled my whole life with keeping weight off. I thought I was eating well, but wasn’t losing weight. Some people recommended that I look into Chef AJ’s ultimate weight loss, and I learned that it was starting in two days, so I signed up. I was able to lose 12 pounds and reach my goal weight. The best part was that I was never hungry, as I had been in previous weight loss programs I’d tried. I had to learn new ways to cook without oil and salt, but after awhile it got easy. I feel the best I’ve ever felt in my life, and unexpectedly lowered my total cholesterol from 218 to 146. I’ve maintained my weight loss longer than I’ve ever been able to, and have changed my way of eating to be plant based. My mom had breast cancer in her late 50’s and then died of lung cancer in her 60’s. My Dad has diabetes and heart disease. I’m turning 60 soon, so my motivation to continue to eat this way is not only to keep the weight off, but to also eat in a way that I’ve learned prevents cancer, diabetes and heart disease. I am so thankful to Chef AJ for opening my eyes to this way of eating!

Another video I love Cher AJ. I discovered you too on my dog walks. Since then, went vegan ❤️, 8 inches off my waist, 56 pounds down, feel much better, and have kept it off for 3 years. I'm so thankful to you and your truly awesome guests. Thanks again 😊

Wow, this is exactly me. Little bit of chocolate every day, a glass or two of wine here and there. My LDL was high, coming down since going meat free since January, but still high… and have that stubborn 5-10 pounds that won’t go. Time to trim off those things. Thanks so much for sharing your experience .

@ChefAJ--I absolutely LOVED this interview. I'm in the same place right now. When I was at TNHC, my cholesterol was up and I put on some weight while in San Francisco. Now that I'm back in FL, I'm getting in my walking daily and being compliant. No more restaurants!!!

So glad to see your videos again Chef AJ. I have been able to drop over 100 pounds going plant based/vegan (since 4/27/2020.) I was morbidly obese on multiple medications. However I am 180 pds at 5 ft 9 in tall. Everyone thinks I am great and done. However, I want to drop 40 more to be completely healthy. Everyone thinks I am crazy! It has started to get difficult to have family and friends sabotage you. I am starting no oil and working at a health club for strength training. So grateful to your recipes which are simple and perfect. ❤

@@angelafischettifitness No, I am not a member but I will definitely become one. Also, no I haven’t heard of either one. I mostly listen to the Physicians Committee and the books of Dr Neal Barnard and Dr Cyrus Khambatta because I am battling diabetes for over 30 years. I will definitely look up the works of the 2 authors you mentioned. Thanks.

@@suzyn9119 Actually my height and weight should be between 125 and 168 by BMI so I am not too thin at all according to my doctor.

@@elizabethmurphy4361 i see..... i wish you the best. I can't stay on track. I'm 5'4" and weigh 175. How did you lose 100 lbs. What do you eat? I eat starch and get bloated and hungry. I can't eat all that fiber that chef aj does. I get colon problems..... runs.... maybe it's cause i can't eat 1 to 2 lbs starchy vegetables. I still try to stay as plant based as i can.. but i have to eat a lot of white rice to keep from running to the bathroom. Anyway i am looking to be 140 lbs at 5'4".

Well if your happy with your health and weight you might not need to but ditching salt makes it sooooo much easier to lose and maintain

Salt was the last thing I was able to let go. I could do no sugar and no oil, but salt was very difficult. Currently I am 6 months salt free. I use dulse and kelp to season and use celery in my juice for natural sodium. I was so bad with salt that I'd even put it on my melons lol but now I enjoy the natural flavor of my food. I'm also one that can't do a little salt I've tried that and then I'd start using generously . So it's gotta be no salt at all for me to succeed. You can do it!

@Elizabeth Murphy. Congratulations! Once you eliminate oils, you should see amazing results rather quickly. Sadly, there will always be some family or friends who want to sabotage our efforts😭. Just stay the course. Your body will tell you when you've reached the right weight! Just kindly disregard those who wish to discourage you from reaching your personal health goal!

I was very sad this past Monday. Got my blood results and my Chlestorol went up. I stopped taking statins in January when I went whole food. My new dr. Put me on a red rice supplement and gave me other tips to lower Chlestorol. I have about 10 to 15 more pounds to lose so I joined the program starting tomorrow. Need motivation and support.

That happened to me at one point also. I signed up for a plant-based doctor in found out that I was eating a lot of plant-based cheese that has a lot of coconut oil in it. I totally eliminated that and my cholesterol went down a lot. Best wishes to you on this plant-based program. I love this eating style, I have never ever been able to eat and feel full and satisfied and keep my weight down until now!!!!

Hi Cindy! I buy frozen unsweetened açaí at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods, or sometimes other markets have it. I partially let it defrost then add it to a blender with about 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk and about 1/2 frozen banana, blend that, then put berries, some unsweetened shredded coconut and cacao nibs on top.. it’s yummy 🤤

Well I am in Atlantic Canada so none of those stores and only time I have seen that is lol in choc covered in costco bags with goji etc. I will have to see thanks. And you look fantastic. Great job, I have a hubby who will not eat like this, and who is retired and ptsd so rarely leaves the house so can’t say dont bring it in. Sigh
