How They Steal in Audio Engineering & Music Production. Independent Transient and Sustain Processing concept was stolen 6 months after I released my video. !!! I just found out one plugin existed before my idea. But my concept far from just eq (read below in IMPORTANT). They made a mistake in their plugins anyway so their plugins don't provide superiority over traditional Mixing with EQ, Comp, Enhancer, Reverb. One of my viewers pointed out how many plugin manufacturers stole my idea since I released my video. We will talk about the fact I didn't patent my idea and a moral aspect of the steal. I will explain that they luckily stole this idea incorrectly. There was Transient Shapers that split a Transient and Sustain and change the volume between them. But I invented the concept how to process them separately and the most important - approaches and reasons to use it over the traditional processing and when it can be superior over the traditional Audio Processing with standard EQ, Comp, Enhancer, Reverb, etc. Before my video, there was no plugins based on it since 1990s to 2020. 6 months after I released my videos 2 plugins came out. They didn't mention who they took the idea from. And even claimed they were experimenting with it. I will explain why you should not use their plugins, why they don't provide superiority over manual splitting so no point to use them. They don't bother about it as their goal just to sell you plugins. I will explain how to edit manually fast so you don't spent too much time and eventually you will get superiority over traditional processing which is impossible to achieve with their plugins. Also, we will talk how these Plugin Manufacturers harm the Audio Production World in general.
You may not care. But it's only before somebody robs you. Imagine you invest yourself and the whole year to develop some idea. And then it's stolen. How would you feel?

I could instantly tell that something was wrong with the sound of these split transients and sustains eqs. It didn't work for me at all so I didn't bother to use them in a real project. It's shame that they stole the idea from you. You should contact some good plugin company for the cooperation (maybe fabfilter?) and create the proper version of this type of split transient and sustain processor. You should get some money from this idea Andrew!

Eventide Physion mk1 (the original, not mk2) was also based on this technique and it came out 7 years ago. So, i'm not sure Eventide actually stole the idea... They already had a plugin with this concept...

I am hoping that UVI uses my idea to expand the Toy Suite vst. I sent them an email. I want video game sounds, cartoon character sounds, and royalty free kids movie savings to use in my beats. The Toy Suite library is to small, doesn't have enough sounds to use it over and over, and it's very expensive compared to the value. They should upgrade it. I understand what you're saying. I how that you get the help that you need to make your own plugins. There are hundreds of Plugin companies now. How will they stay in business once everything is done and there's nothing new to create?

А в чем именно эксклюзивность данного метода? Я не очень понял если честно. Можно разделять транзиенты от сустейна руками, а можно используя спектральные фильтры, и то и другое как техника давно известны, и используются в разных задачах разными инженерами довольно давно. Такие плагины как split eq просто используют спектральный метод разделения, такой же как используется в izotope RX в модуле Deconstruct, не помню сколько модулю лет уже, где-то с 2014 его использую для быстрого разделения транзиентов от тонального материала, экспортирую обе дорожки в DAW и работаю с элементами раздельно. Качество разделения действительно не такое, как при ручном монтаже, но часто критичней скорость работы, чем качество, если речь не про сведение всего трека таким методом, а про один из инструментов. Собственно сама концепция разделения сигнала на транзиенты и сустейн давно известна, то что её не было в EQ плагинах я не связываю с тем, что до неё никто раньше не догадался, скорее это связано с тем, что процессоры в то время не позволяли в реальном времени производить разделение.

To be fair -- I do think it is unfair that they did not come and talk to you about it/ask for help in the development of the plugins. That being said, ideas about audio processing are going to be copied whether you patent them or not. Part of development in this field is taking someone else's idea and creating a product around it -- or just taking someone else's product and changing trivial details.

Additionally -- I think there is a possibility that others come to the same idea you did (even around the same time). I remember several years ago wondering about how I could achieve things like multiband noise gates and resonance/harmonic-based EQ on drums and came to find out that AIXdsp had created these products years before I knew about it. I was a beginner in the audio sphere but had not seen plugins like this anywhere else.

@@alexeyayzin8512 This happens often, in lots of fields. Multiple people will be developing similar things at the same time, with no idea that the other exists. Not to mention, boz digital did this a decent amount of time ago. The tricky thing here is like, if you want to own something, don't give it away for free... That's kind of the crux of putting things on the internet. If I spent years developing a process, and thought I was a pioneer in a field, I would hope that I'd consider doing more with it than uploading a youtube video of it. Also, I'm sure because of youtube TOS, the whole thing is theirs too. This just isn't the way to go about developing something you're going to want to own. It's lame that he might not get credit he deserves, but it's nowhere near stealing someone's money on the street. Also, if they got things wrong when they "stole" the concept, perhaps his concept is not what they intended to steal, and it's meant to work a different way. Also, also he says there was nothing like this until 2020, but I'm pretty sure the boz compression thing has been around since before that.

No one stole your idea, splitting tracks based on transients and tones was practiced by other engineers including myself for a long time. No one got angry at you for stealing our ideas either, because multiple people will likely come at same conclusions and use the same techniques to solve same problems. And there have been plugins that did separate transient and tonal processing before 2020 - Eventide Physion, Sonible Freiraum, atk transient splitter, to name a few...

@@AndrewZeleno1 Physion does all kinds of processing, not only eq, Eventide has just continued developing their older concept. And it doesn't even matter. Even if they did base it on your idea, that's like sharing your idea in a video and than accusing viewers of stealing when they apply what they learned from the video you shared.
