I’m in first semester- and girl that A&P MATTERS 😭😭😭 also ATI is painfully long - but it’s so worth it when exams and check offs come around
@sarafairbank9855 Жыл бұрын
another thing I just thought of - my school requires leather shoes, which I thought was silly at first, but it actually can prevent needle sticks if you accidentally drop a needle. plus they're so much easier to wipe than regular mesh/cloth sneakers. I have and love the Hoka Bondi SR shoes, but they're $175 :/. You can find many other shoes at a more affordable price, but if you're able and willing, it's probably worth splurging on really comfortable shoes. OH and also compression socks are a must have!! I like graduated compression socks best because they are tighter at the ankle and looser at the calf, therefore pushing blood up more effectively.
@emilyvilla8224 Жыл бұрын
@@TheVidals32346 thankfully I LOVED A&P, so I’m hoping that will do me a favor in nursing school. My school also uses ATI & I’ve heard that it also really prepares you for NCLEX. I’ve heard it’s a chore though!

I took my Mom to Chemo and Radiation in 2019. It was at Providence hospital. They were amazing. The doctors, nurses and volunteers. They didn't miss a beat. i ended up leaving my first nursing job at a super busy department in texas medical center and it was horrible i hated it so much and felt like so many nurses with even 3 years forget what it's like to be a new grad and now i'm LOVING my new job also in texas medical center but all the women are so patient and supportive and it's so much better!! and i want to now be like that once i gain experience! one big difference as well is my body did NOT survive on nights and i was making way too many mistakes and so unhappy feeling like i hated how i went through so much work to get into and through school just to spend my life sleeping and never fully rested and now i'm dayshift and it ROCKS!!!!! night shift works for some and some people do well wtih little sleep but i know myself and i do NOT! haha. even with blackout curtains meds etc you never fully get the same rest sleeping days away and working nights...at least that's how i feel about it. and it's comforting to know that actually nights DON'T work for a lot of people and if you ever struggle with it ask people. i got super sick too and lost so much hair and weight and it was just BAD! i also learned in 6 months to find things i TRULY enjoy on my days off and i fully separate my work and home life and i maximize not thinking about work and enjoying my time off so i return to work fully rested and ready to work again! ladies and gentleman on the path to become a nurse....if a new job doesn't work for you and you're super unhappy DON'T be afraid to stick up for yourself and find a new job that works better for you! it saved me and i'm the happiest I've been in years!!!! i found out night shift did not work for me or my mental health and i'm now working days performing better way less mistakes able to handle the stress of the job better and get along with my coworkers better! Do what works for YOU! (meaning if you do better on nights and hate days don't be afraid to find a job that works better for you and your health and most importantly your mental health!) :) it is different for everyone!
