I need to learn how to can food. That's a good hobby to learn. My hobbies are some woodworking buildings things . Trying my hand at bob, rose painting , designed jewelry, and having them made. I buy or have the gemstones and make the design and take I to the jewelers to make.

We do a lot of canning ourselves. You Can water bath different meats and fish. It is in the old canning/preserving books, but not the new ones. Look under Heritage canning. Do what works best for you. Keep up the good work.

You can use the instant pot (pressure cooker) for canning meat. Pressure cook at high pressure for 75 minutes for pints and 90 minutes for quarts. The instant pot reaches up to 244°F at high pressure which is equivalent to a pressure canner temperature of 10 pounds (240°F.)8 Feb 2023

I remember how my late mother and aunt did this with tomatoes. When they cool down; the lids will pop and they will seal. Almost a dying art now. I was very young to see them for hours working on the canning of tomatoes.

Why do you do this with your food, is it to save on cooking time, or in case you have no money and are hungry? I only ask because most people just cook and eat their food.
