As someone who no longer plays Dota, but who was really, really into it from around TI3 to TI9 or so, I’ve loved the opportunity these videos have provided to revisit some of those memories. Kinda sad the channel will end after 3 more videos. Is understandable and I know these videos take a really high amount of time and resources to make. I mean to a skilled player who know how to micro very well, that'd be something busted they can exploit. Also, there have been ways to buff those treants in some way like his current Aghanim's spawning big treants when killing heroes and talents that improve the treants. I mean the talents alone locked behind at high levels tell me that it'd be busted if they scale similar to lane creeps.

Watching these videos makes me miss old Dota 2 when stat types meant something (str heros tough but low dps, agi fragile high dps, int more mana for spells). Nowadays everyone and their mother can spam spells and tank everything thanks to the change to hp/regen and int/mana scaling and the power creep of items. It makes fights way more prolonged and less lethal. The "League-ification" of Dota if you will.

We went on the long lane/suicide not to die, but farm and survive. We were the play makers later on in the same game. We from the suicide lane carried blinks and initiated all of the fights. RIP Dota 2.

As someone who don't play Dota but played and knows League of Legends I am shocked that an ability like Teleport was a regular ability in Dota, Twisted Fate a champion in League who had TP as his ult literally had to be nerfed before the end of the Alpha because he used to have TP as his normal ability

I never knew why people called him "furion", since I read a lot of dota 2 lores and that was odd for me. With a little research, I learned he was called "Furion, the Prophet" in Dota, a reference to Malfurion Stormrage, from WarCraft. Since Dota 2 isn't actually lore sequence of Dota, his name isn't furion at all. BUT, at dota 2 codes, sprout its still mentioned as "furion sprouts", like modifier_furion_sprout_damage_aura.

Imagine if Valve decides to give NP the Treant equivalent of Necronomicon. It's a Lvl 25 Talent and it essentially replaces 2 of his Treants with a ranged Treant that buffs its allies with + X amount of Attack Speed, and a more powerful melee one that has more HP and attack damage. In addition, this special melee Treant also has a buff that increases the movement speed of its allies by X amount. Last but not the least, it also explodes once it dies or when the duration expires, dealing 300 magic damage in a 500 AoE radius.

NP building right click damage both despite (and because) he has no scaling reminds me of LeBlanc in League of Legends, she *does* have magic scalings on her abilities and it's how she's been played most of her life, but at times it's been viable to build physical damage (which right clicks scale off of) despite having 0 other scalings simply because her kit is still the best and safest in the game for it

Oh god i remember boots first NP haha. His dmg was so damn high he could just buy that item and still own the lane Also, worth noting mindcontrol kinda pioneered an utility NP during 2017-2018, with sometimes buying veil, shivas and pipe, iirc also.. i miss the 36 dmg treants at lvl 1. Its insane how nerfed and useless that spell was up until recently

Thanks for this video, it was amazing. I disagree that 'Alliance had been wrong about how to play Dota' and that nothing changed between TI3 and TI4. My understanding was that Alliance won despite having a technically worse 'carry' and laning stage is because Bulldog and Akke could find farm in the jungle and even through they lost lanes early they still outfarmed the opponents as a team. But nerfing the jungle between TI3 and TI4 stopped Alliances strategy from being successful any more, not because people just realised that they were wrong. Alliance was right, for the environment they played in.
