Wow. Beautifully designed. It really brings peace and calm atmosphere. Love all the delicate colours, also the clean and minimal looks. This one is surely a fave🩶

I'm glad you were able to feel the calm through your screen. While I'm usually not big on colour, Weaver & Co used subtle soft colours which I believe worked really well.

Thank you for sharing this. It looks unpretentious and quietly appealing in its neighbourhood setting (I really like the bricks and the timber screening and the oblique angle of the roof) but the quality of the materials and the thoughtfulness that has gone into creating calm, minimal and functional interior spaces is evident. Lucky family!

So beautiful. Would love to live in a place like this. So thoughtfully designed. Where I live in US, that kind of home would be 5 million-easily.

Beautiful, creative design concepts; I felt I wanted to either turn on some lights, or open a covered skylight, particularly in the kitchen/ living area.

is there a thing as too much wood? (timber)
@marcogijsen5508Ай бұрын
Not in my opinion.
@SimpleDwellingАй бұрын
I have to side with Marco, personally, I don't think there is too much timber here. In fact, if it was my home, I'd go for more.
@minigiant8998Ай бұрын
@@SimpleDwelling how could u go for more? a wood toilet?
@SimpleDwellingАй бұрын
Doesn't sound too sanitary! But timber on the ceiling! And again, personally, I'd opt for a similar wood tone on the exterior.

What makes a house a home? What does this place tell us about those who inhabit it
@SimpleDwellingАй бұрын
I'd love to hear your insights on this.

@@SimpleDwelling Thanks. I perhaps sound negative...apologies. I can see great beauty, creativity in this as a piece of architecture. I think it lacks the "markings" of people (or maybe the everyday bits n bobs have been hidden away for the film). It's a bit like when I see a piece of brutalist architecture made human by curtains, ornamentation and life on the balconies.. a sense of inhabitation...that sort of thing...
@SimpleDwellingАй бұрын
You're right, the kid's clutter was stashed around in an un-seen corner of their rooms, the everyday objects like remotes, pens, glasses, clothes drying on a hanger, scattered cups and loose earrings were hidden away for the shoot. But keep in mind, there is quite a bit of storage, far more than an average house, so a lot of things we tend to have on display (but wish we could tuck away) is hidden away in cupboards.

These are really nice homes but in the United States we have universal building code and all homes need to stay within zoning and structure setbacks etc.
@SimpleDwellingАй бұрын
We have similar codes and setback regulations here in Australia, a lot to protect overshadowing neighbours. There’s also heritage protections in a lot of areas of Melbourne which can impact designs.
@MatteoManzi25 күн бұрын
As is almost always the case in Australian homes, too much space for five people. I am definitely a lover more of simplicity and modesty.

It's totally lacking in soul and humanity
@SimpleDwellingАй бұрын
Strangely enough, I'm drawn more to the interior and find it more interesting. It was an interior photographed posted by the architect that made me want to reach out and film the home. But we are all different in our likes, dislikes, interests and tastes, so I appreciate your comment.

How so? What would make this more 'soulful' and have a sense of 'humanity' to it?

@@SimpleDwelling I guess if it's a family of 5 with 3 young kids, where is the evidence of this in the communal living spaces? The scribbles and artworks of the children?
