@@LK-pc4sq I will soon be 61, but it's been a while since anyone mentioned me not looking my age. And though I have done intermittent fasting, and even some longer multi-day fasts over the past few years, I don't count calories of what I eat, so I can't really confirm it's calorie restrictive on a regular basis, at least to the extent of it affecting the aging process.

PFULMTL, what you say makes sense. The minimum I know is how to patch a flat tire, which requires a patch and some levers. I didn't see that in her kit, which is what surprised me. Getting a puncture is not uncommon, yet she doesn't seem to have the gear for that. The bike doesn't have a dynamo or a battery-powered light. Is it reasonable to assume that one will only ride during the day? I'd say that is pretty risky.

I will say, I won't even come close to what she's done, but I'm nearing 4k miles since I bought my 1st road bike in April 2020. And I k ow exactly how she feels. There is something about that freedom and that amazing feeling that pushes you to continue riding a bike. It is the ultimate endorphin rush, and the fact I can lose weight while riding is just a plus.

Does what she loves, and absolute kills at it. Good for her!

I love her so much I also really love biking as well. Especially super long bike rides I'd love a biking partner! I wish that I can be just like her just bike all over the world and enjoy life more!

Are clipless pedals worth it if you're touring?

I logged 55000 kms for 2 years while holding a full-time job- I had a 136km loop that consistently took just over 4 hours to complete- the challenge was to get it under 4 hrs, and the rule was to obey all traffic stops and lights (safety over recklessness)- those were just sprints between my long ride days on weekends- it was quite a bit of fun actually. Must be nice to be able to just ride and not have to earn a living though

Presumably she earns a living doing the riding. Look at the comments on here, see how much she rides I'll be honest, if this girl says for example this pedal is the best or this tire works on the most surfaces or ANYTHING endurance related. This tire has the longest lasting tread or this seat is comfiest on a long ride. Better believe I believe her

Forget cars, this is more than I've ever walked probably 😂

Why is her cadence so low at the start?
@durrantmiller88106 жыл бұрын
Blue Turtle I think his point is that she should down shift to get a higher cadence
@srairmand6 жыл бұрын
Safazsc Ⓥ cause you don't want to go all out on long distance challenges. You'll burn out in a day.
@durrantmiller88106 жыл бұрын
Ronald De Guzman but if your cadence is that low going up hill you are working way harder than you should

watching her pedal she obviously not using compact gearing
@Schradermusic6 жыл бұрын
It's harder, hence you get better training.

Evidence seems to demonstrate that as endurance events becomes ultra-endurance events, the gender gap closes - think AT thru-hike speed records, pan-continental foot/bike races, cross-ocean rowing attempts

Can you link to some of that evidence?
