I wonder about the maths of all these farming ventures. I would be interested to know how many new farmers are actually making money and sustainable from farming…. With externalities like drought and govt policies i wonder if most farmers are not hurting financially. Every year we hear tobacco farmers complain that contract farming leaves them Broke and in debt… it was same story with the wheat farmers and cotton farmers … with El Nino we heard some farmers were destocking selling cattle for a song… its very tricky this farming thing!!! There is a reason why so few whites were engaged in farming at the end of the day. Its a hard business to make money from
