Perfect ending. Thank you for sharing your story and voicing the sentiments of thousands. Thomas is incredibly special, and for all of the controversy of recent years, the criticism comes from a place of love. Today’s kids, more than ever, need media that is designed to be something they can cherish and learn from, not slop that preys on their attention with no regard for their well-being. It’s people like Awdry, Britt and David that show just how important it is to care for the next generation, as seen by the butterfly effect they have created. People like you and the others you’ve showcased will only continue that ripple. Full steam ahead.

My Grandad was a church minister and introduced me to the Railway series books. Watching interviews of Awdry I see soo much of my Grandad's personality in him. Every time I read the stories to my own kids, I am transported back 30 years or so to him reading them to me, with that same soft spoken, "church man" storytelling approach.

It's crazy how much this tank engine that shared my 1st name has impacted my life. My 1st exposure was VHS tapes of Thomas and friends ranging from seasons 1-4 with all but 1 being narrated by Carlin (the exeption narrated by Ringo, Better Late Than Never & Other Stories) not to mention 3 tapes of Shining Time Station & TATMRR on VHS too. As a kid that was what most of my childhood was. My love for Thomas was also increased even further when my parents (back when they weren't divorced) would frequent the local tourist railroads (We are kinda spoiled with them here in Pennsylvania XD) the most common being New Hope and of course who could forget Day Out With Thomas at Strasburg where I could see Thomas literally chuffing through the Amish farmlands. As time went on Thomas became a core of my life even to the point I was teased and called "Thomas the Train" in school but I took it as a compliment cause it was so fitting. Now at age 24 that tank engine has led me to not only becoming a somewhat reconizable content creator here on KZbin but an ever evolving career in the railroads. Its amazing how much Thomas shaped my life and so many others just like me. Y'know what they say, little engines can do big things!

Even today, I struggle with hearing impairment...especially in crowded areas and near loud noises. ... And yet, during all those years of hardship, and to this very day, the one thing that I could always count on to brighten my day...was Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. It was this franchise that helped me stay strong, even during my darkest hours of life... ... Thank you Rev. W. Seeing Images of Little Unlucky Tug in those golden years of childhood is so surreal. I wish I could go back to my childhood and relive the happy days of Playing with My Tomy Trains on a table made of old doors (Yes, My Tomy trains were laid upon some old sliding doors we had in the basement.) The closer we get towards the 2030s and 40s, more interesting works of the past century will emerge into the public domain that, hopefully, can produce thoughtful and creative content (not the bad horror products et. al.) I succinctly remember the 60th anniversary of the series, but man, time is coming over to 80, 90, and I hope there’s something grand planned for a full 100th birthday celebration in 2045 (assuming we’re all around by then). Aside from that, this series is incredible and a great introduction to world building, English culture, and railway production.

Can we all agree that Mattel is the best and worst thing to happen to Thomas? Also, your videos got me into Thomas. I watched Magic Railroad as a kid, but don't remember watching the actual show at that age. When I graduated from high school, I had a boring month where I was home alone for most of the day, so I watched a lot of KZbin videos. I got into the edgy "Sodor is a facist dystopia" fan theories, which led me to "Unanswerable Thomas Questions".

Thomas is undoubtably the single most important part of my childhood, Power Rangers being a very close second. Growing up with Asperger’s and the struggles that come with it, this single franchise helped me with the verbal/nonverbal skills I was lacking and taught me life lessons no other show could do without blatantly stating the morals. From a big Wooden Railway collection to a huge amount of VHS/DVD releases as well as the giant RWS book, I really don’t know where I would be today. My entire life may have turned out much differently had it not been for this little blue engine and his many friends. Thank you, Tug, for posting this and bringing us Thomas fans a little closer together.

When I was a kid, I would always watch TTTE on PBS at my grandparents house. I was hooked from the start, I think what also did it for me was my grandfather's love of steam engines (QJ fans represent) and a plethora of documentaries. Getting back into model railroading has boosted my appreciation for seasons 1-5 of the show. There's so much attention to detail it's admirable and something I want to strive for once I have the space and money. I've been watching your channel for 4 years tug, your videos helped to bring back memories and form new ones though your channel, thank you for sharing and here's to 200k and beyond!

Sorry for only Japanese comments. Thank you so much for the wonderful heartwarming video, Tug! You’re the best!

Britt Allcroft and David Mitton really made a miracle happen with turning The Railway Series into a television show, until it got worse over the years, but 40 years, man, Thomas is so old at this point in time.

Thank for helping me find my love for Thomas again. I had always assumed that I needed to grow out of it and get rid of my toys and the like. Since then I regret those things because you showed me that having interests in things I loved as a kid as an adult makes life better. Appreciate everything you do for the community and letting outsiders know why love that blue train and his pals so much.

I'm so happy that not only do we share the same love for this show, and for many of the same reasons, but to be acknowledged by the channel that inspired me to take my passion for this show and doing something along the (railway) lines as you! I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times, thank you Thomas, and thank you Tug for giving me so much to enjoy in this life!

3:10 My grandfather used to read that story to me and it’s one of his favorite stories as it taught me to salute and obey orders. Though he used to think Percy was a bad engine because of how he ignored the danger sign.
