Perfect ending. Thank you for sharing your story and voicing the sentiments of thousands. Thomas is incredibly special, and for all of the controversy of recent years, the criticism comes from a place of love. Today’s kids, more than ever, need media that is designed to be something they can cherish and learn from, not slop that preys on their attention with no regard for their well-being. It’s people like Awdry, Britt and David that show just how important it is to care for the next generation, as seen by the butterfly effect they have created. People like you and the others you’ve showcased will only continue that ripple. Full steam ahead.

It's crazy how much this tank engine that shared my 1st name has impacted my life. My 1st exposure was VHS tapes of Thomas and friends ranging from seasons 1-4 with all but 1 being narrated by Carlin (the exeption narrated by Ringo, Better Late Than Never & Other Stories) not to mention 3 tapes of Shining Time Station & TATMRR on VHS too. As a kid that was what most of my childhood was. My love for Thomas was also increased even further when my parents (back when they weren't divorced) would frequent the local tourist railroads (We are kinda spoiled with them here in Pennsylvania XD) the most common being New Hope and of course who could forget Day Out With Thomas at Strasburg where I could see Thomas literally chuffing through the Amish farmlands. As time went on Thomas became a core of my life even to the point I was teased and called "Thomas the Train" in school but I took it as a compliment cause it was so fitting. Now at age 24 that tank engine has led me to not only becoming a somewhat reconizable content creator here on KZbin but an ever evolving career in the railroads. Its amazing how much Thomas shaped my life and so many others just like me. Y'know what they say, little engines can do big things!

The closer we get towards the 2030s and 40s, more interesting works of the past century will emerge into the public domain that, hopefully, can produce thoughtful and creative content (not the bad horror products et. al.) I succinctly remember the 60th anniversary of the series, but man, time is coming over to 80, 90, and I hope there’s something grand planned for a full 100th birthday celebration in 2045 (assuming we’re all around by then). Aside from that, this series is incredible and a great introduction to world building, English culture, and railway production.

Growing up with Asperger’s and the struggles that come with it, this single franchise helped me with the verbal/nonverbal skills I was lacking and taught me life lessons no other show could do without blatantly stating the morals. Thomas, I think, was my first tv show that I watched. I loved it to pieces and I still do. I am sad of what the show has become over the years, but I am entirely grateful for what Wilbert Awdry did for me and so many others. Thanks Wilbert!

This was the MOST BEAUTIFUL Unlucky Tug Video I have ever watched! This is definitely, 100%, totally, without question: THOMAS’S SWAN SONG! Thomas and his friends now live on as gods of our childhood. Such a beautiful masterpiece! Great job Nic. An amazing new video! And I hope you and your wife enjoy the trip to Europe!

Britt Allcroft and David Mitton really made a miracle happen with turning The Railway Series into a television show, until it got worse over the years, but 40 years, man, Thomas is so old at this point in time.

Ok, I admit it, I’m cried at the end🥲 Tug, your video was truly beautiful and inspiring. I was captivated by your whole story. It’s amazing how this cheeky little blue train brought us all together. I’m now more than eager when the time is right to share my story. Wonderful, wonderful job!

Thank for helping me find my love for Thomas again. I had always assumed that I needed to grow out of it and get rid of my toys and the like. Since then I regret those things because you showed me that having interests in things I loved as a kid as an adult makes life better. Appreciate everything you do for the community and letting outsiders know why love that blue train and his pals so much.

Thank you! It is my honor to be a pick of the week! Something I never thought would happen, and it makes me elated to hear! I'm so happy that not only do we share the same love for this show, and for many of the same reasons, but to be acknowledged by the channel that inspired me to take my passion for this show and doing something along the (railway) lines as you! I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times, thank you Thomas, and thank you Tug for giving me so much to enjoy in this life!

I used to be scared of Thomas in my kid years, but overtime I grew to love the show and I'm glad I did. Thomas has been there since my childhood and really don't think I would be who I am without this little blue engine. Thank you Thomas, Keep chugging along

3:10 My grandfather used to read that story to me and it’s one of his favorite stories as it taught me to salute and obey orders. Though he used to think Percy was a bad engine because of how he ignored the danger sign.

Imagine being a kid, and a new show about a blue train shows up. You think nothing of it, but want to watch every episode once they come out. Being a kid back then would’ve been legendary. I forgor to do a video for this but damn I’m excited for it!

It's incredible the amount of staying power Thomas has, as a guy into his 30s I still find joy in rewatching the classic series and it has made me go out to heritage railways, took me long enough! Great video as usual Tug!
