How To: 13-14 Bumper Swap & QUAD TIPS Conversion!!

I finished up the 2013-2014 rear bumper swap on my 2012 Mustang GT! In addition we went full send and got Borla S-type Quad tip mufflers as well! This is essentially the 2013-2014 Shelby rear end now! And the exhaust note deepened to boot :) Thanks for watching!

Very nice. I've done it twice now. Once on my '11 Shelby with Corsa and today on my '14 GT with 2013-2014 GT500 ACCELATEC 2.5" SS AXLE-BACK EXHAUST KIT W/ 4" POLISHED QUAD TIPS. Same look, less money, good sound. My corsa's are beautiful but too mellow.

Awesome! I’m not familiar with accelatec or the sound. I can’t imagine it’s too different than normal though. I’m guessing your corsas are the sports if you think they are too mellow! 😂

Borla looks good... but not as good as corsa 😉 car looks good. I'm doing the same bumper on my 12 kona blue gt. Gotta find rocker panels now.

Thank you! I went borla for two reasons. I like their sound better and to be a little different cause everyone gets corsas! But they do look awesome with the angle tips all flushed up to the valance for sure! Good luck with your search 👍🏻

Yeah, I would just swap the taillights with them, the foam support, and the brackets that go right underneath them.

Unfortunately I don’t have the back up sensors so I can’t really give you much input on those. I would think if you pull them from the old bumper they could swap over to the new one just fine as long as you drill the holes necessary to swap them.

Yep that’s pretty much it! The plastic insert pieces for the bumper will be needed if you buy new, but used is the way to go if you can find a good one and bonus in the right color. I run 20s on the street for my car 🤘

Any OEM ford parts website would be a good place to start. Or you could shoot a message over to Devin Hyde or Go Hyde Racing (he works as a ford parts dealer) and he can get you what you need 👍🏻

Too bad the bumper doesn't match the car....the rest of the car has the black plastic running down the side where as your new one doesn't. Easiest was to fix that would be to do install the newer rocker covers to match.

Hey man! Question. I was inspired to do this exact set up on my 2013 mustang Gt from watching your video. Only problem I have is I can not for the life of me find those Borla S types on American muscle or the borla website. Where did you get them? Did you just add a 2018 mustang gt muffler to your car or is it specifically for 2011-2014 gts?

They are specifically for the 2013/2014 Shelby GT500 but bolt right up to any 11-14 car with room for the quad tips (i.e. the Shelby rear valance) but the only problem is I’ve heard that they are discontinued from Borla. So your best bet would be to find a used set or a company that maybe has some left over stock.

@@Jailbreakgaming1234 I bought everything, taillights included, from a guy who was parting out a wrecked car so I picked it all up for $700 then another $200 for the valance. Bought and sold the mufflers for the same amounts so that was an even wash. All in at $900 I believe? Before selling old parts! :)

I didn’t get it painted I actually found it in the right color so I can just paint it later on. Getting the valence on is a matter of cutting the bumper and tab holes then just popping in place!

@@500problemz There was two different brackets on the side where the bumer mounts that are reuseable and everything else needs to but updated to 13-14 spec. Bolts are all the same across both platforms.

Hack saw for big pieces with easy angles and a dremel for smaller tighter fit parts.

When doing quads? No I don’t think so unless you did some like custom small tips or something but that wouldn’t look as good. If you have a 13-14 the bumper should already be cut for the quad valance though so you just need to swap them. Absolutely worth it and it sounds like the hard part is already done for you
