How to 2.0 ecoboost swap part 1

I have made this swap. Just FYI the Ford performance set up does not use fuel return. And psi is 54 psi pressure. I think pans are same up to 2018. Bolt pattern changed in 2019. Mustang intake works great. The harness needs a specific crank trigger. Throttle body will fit. If any questions I may be of some help.

Subbed. I’m in the same boat, but my application is an 86 2wd short bed. The eco boost I have is from a ‘16 escape, and the wrecker gave me the harness and computer.

Sweet man! ANT steering & electronics can get you setup with a standalone ECU setup if you need. They run about $800.

Some very good information, I have read the post you are talking about and wanted to do the build myself but found that the control pack and orientation kit was discontinued. Did not know that the oil pan and pickup from the Duratec 2.3 bolt up to the eco boost 2.0 what’s the name of the company that produces these ECU kits if you don’t mind me asking. Look forward to watching this build. I have subscribed awesome content and great information.

Any glaring issues you can see with swapping a 2.3 EB into a 1st Gen 4x4 Explorer Sport Trac with the old 4.0 SOHC V6 ?

4WD might be a little challenging but other than that it shouldn’t be too bad.

Anything is possible but the 2.0 ecoboost is different from the 1.6 it wouldn’t be a direct swap. Transmission and ecu and harness are all different

Hello Jimmy, I have an 04 ranger 5sp with a 2015 2.5 swap from a fusion. I was thinking about doing a turbo build on that or would recommend just doing a 2.3 EC swap instead? Thanks for any advice.

That’s an interesting scenario. The issues I can think of off the top of my head are, if you are currently using a factory ECU it might not support boost. If you use the ecoboost it has a high pressure fuel pump on the back of the head and your firewall would need to be clearanced. You could possibly buy a 2.3 EB short block from ford for $1,200 and use your head. Do research on if that will work or not. Depending on hp goals I think the 2.3 eco is good for around 400whp. I love the ecoboost platform though! Maybe check out esslinger engineering they support this platform and could probably tell you if your head will work on a certain ecoboost.

@@kylemiller593 no I do not, my truck had a factory focus ST ECU so that allows me to use a off the self tunes via Cobb accessport. Another reason I like the ecoboost swap if you’re not trying to make a ton of horsepower.
