You literally saved my bacon 😂 I've spent way too much time stressing and trying to bounce down a shir ton of midi into samples thinking I had to have everything ready is sample form in order for the project to be opened properly 😂🤦🤦 thanks!! ❤

Thanks! Specially the tip to save a copy of the project (temporarily) to the desktop made it work for me.

Does it have to be the same version of ableton? I have suite and my friend has intro. Would that work?

Awesome vid, much appreciated! Question… when you freeze the track can the other person just not edit it then? But they can still hear it?

Why is it necessary to compress the file before uploading it to Google Drive?
@phildimopoulos60106 ай бұрын
He’s probably emailing it is my guess, can’t email a folder. Otherwise it may be to save space because zipping creates a smaller file size. Prob not necessary though if space isn’t limited for you.

How does the other producer install and open the project on their Ableton live ??
@DJ_BILLY2 жыл бұрын
they have to have google drive installed on their desktop -- when it's opened via drive on desktop it'll connect with their ableton then it's as easy as opening the file :) hope this helps (sorry i'm a year late lol)

Be sure to tell your collab partner not to click "unfreeze tracks" when prompted... Yes, it happens 😅

I have a really terrible issue and i desperately need help. I've been producing for about a year now and to cut a long story short all my projects are saved within one project (the first one i ever made) I thought it was no problem as it as organised but now that I've come to trying to move and export stems for other computers' and producers to use i realise its become a huge issue as my files are always offline. is there any way i could sort this out, thanks in advance to anyone who knows
@64hapz2 жыл бұрын
Maybe if you try to save the project as (in case you mess up & delete everything), then try to delete the songs one by one until you are left with just one. Then SAVE AS & make a *NEW* project name for it. Repeat the process until you have successfully done it for ALL the songs in the project. Hopefully you found a workaround by now, seeing that this was a year ago :( Keep creating, dont give up! I lost all my original projects due to hard drive failure when I had just started with a macbook & midi keyboard. It hurt really bad & almost discouraged me. Fortunately I kept going, I now am surrounded by turntables, studio monitors, 3 Maschines (MK's), an akai 4000, a recording booth, etc. We all start off with hardly anything, this is all part of the process, trust it & most importantly: HAVE FUN

I have this issue too, my plan is to make a copy of the song, collect all and save, and save the copy into its own project folder and do it one by one. If that makes sense lol. If it doesn’t work, which I don’t see why it wouldn’t, then I’d probably export each stem and drag the wav file into a new session

Video is fine, but intro music is so ridiculously and unnecessary loud that it woke up my kid next room and my monitors volume was relatively low.

Unpopular opinion : How about No! Never share projects files with anyone. Only grouped stems . Never let anyone know how you do your things. If anyone ask just say “oh yeah I’m just doing basic regular stuff” magic is no longer a magic when people know how it’s done . PS : doesn’t apply to beginers. Go ahead and share your project your will probabaly get help than exposing your secrets which you don’t have yet
