How to Acid Wash an Aluminum Boat.

I washed my boat with Purple Power aluminum brightener with great results by following what was done on the video. I have decals on my Bass Tracker and it did not harm them. Thanks for making the video, it was very helpful.

Seems to be a lot of confusion out there about cleaning aluminum boats. There are two basic situations people are conflating. Removing dirt, scuffs, oil and waterline staining, and removing overall OXIDIZATION. This cleaner works great on the former but it doesn't remove the dull and uneven greying caused by oxidization over time. Nothing short of abrasive compounds and elbow grease can do the latter.

I’ve used similar products to great effect. My only suggestion would be to get your truck (or other painted surfaces) away from the boat before spraying the product on. I’m not comfortable that the chemical wouldn’t damage my truck paint.

That turned out awesome! Have a similar boat but my hull is painted. Will that damage the paint? I have tried so many things trying to get it cleaned without any luck.

Not if it's washed off right away. I've had the boat 20 years now paint is still the same.

If you start from the bottom and go up, you won't get streaks.

It does give it a more silver white if compared to a chrome finish
