Good video! You're definitely right about soft skills and communication. They can make a big difference, and not only in cybersecurity jobs. Before trying to enter cybersecurity (I'm still in the process), I worked in finance with complex products and learned to explain them to very major clients as if they were four years old (without disrespect). This ability helped me get some good positions later on.

Update: I agree that certifications won't solve every problem especially in this day of age. I believe that companies should give individuals a chance though in real life environment to show their abilities. I am just seeking new skills to learn and difficult to find companies to hire me due to not having the experience.

no not at all. I got my helpdek job just by showing my passion in the interview and having good communications. Like it or not, customer services skills are still the most important part of a helpdesk job, so having these experiences to pull on helps. Even if it was just from when you were working at mcdonalds. for an example.
