I’ve come to realize that having discipline and structure in your daily routine is the most important factor to accomplish your goals and actually feel happy and confident. Because when you don’t have a routine, your mind wanders from one thing to another, but you’re never able to complete a task till the end. You give in to your temptations and eventually lose your discipline. Let’s focus on having a daily routine that we follow religiously and let’s make 2023 a year of change 💪🏼

I think I didn't waste 2022 completely, I did challenge myself with a few things, wrote a (almost full) draft of my urban fantasy novel, read 33 books, tried learning some Japanese and even edited a novel... it was a rollercoaster. But in 2023, I hope to keep at it, and work towards my goals. :)

"Pain of discipline and the pain of regret" Damn, that really put things into perspective. Thanks a lot for making this video Ruri! The quality in your videos has immensely progressed throughout the years, and I'm really proud of your effort. Watching your vids brings me so much peace after a tiring day. 3:27 - I started improving my WPM last year, (from an ave. of 110 wpm to 145 wpm) and lost 28+ pounds. The pain of discipline is a pain I would take every time. Would love for you to make a vid on typing faster since I think increasing WPM overall would add a lot of productivity in our daily lives.

I am also a firm believer of what Jim Rohn’s phrase says and I’m glad to know people are watching someone who encourages others to make big efforts into their goals . Thank you!! Slowly I'm trying to become who I want to be, and I feel that in 2023 I will progress much more faster and become much closer to my goals. I absolutely agree with you about exercising. In January it finally became my habit to workout every day consistently. Now I feel that my body is more strengthened, and it's amazing. I also like to dance, and now my movements became way more light and liberated. It just brings so much joy. Working out was something I couldn't make a habit of for several years honestly, but now when I started to do it consistently, I see the positive changes it does to me. At the beginning, simple routines are enough, you don't have to go to the gym or have any equipment. I love watching workout videos and move along with them, there are plenty of these videos on KZbin. I'm glad I made a new habit that makes a huge impact on me. Now I'm trying to get rid of my social media addiction, become more disciplined and be more focused on my main goals. Wishing luck to everyone who's on their journey to become better 💗

The way the video was organized was great in my opinion, I actually struggle a lot with my focus, and you managed to keep me on tracks the whole video. I think 2022 was already a great improvement compared to covid times ! I went to the climbing gym a lot, and got a pretty good shape quickly while having fun. Launched back my instagram, showing exclusively my hobbies (climbing, rollerskate, juggling and music), not only it was rewarding showing this to other people, even strangers, but it also made me work them more than before, because now I have progress to show. Got a pretty nice job in engeenering, even though I still lack a little bit a discipline in it. This video was the little push I needed to get further. I still struggle with sleep disorder, procrastination, and keeping in touch with people online. I don't comment often online, but I felt like it today. Thanks a lot !

Every step forward is better than standing still. You should always enjoy small steps, because it's better than regretting that you didn't finish a big task. This is a good idea not only for physical exercise but also for all tasks. Although when I do something (e.g. creating something), it happens that I get too excited about progress(or the project itself), which leads to burnout and stopping and often not finishing the project. 🙂

That has always been my problem, I always put so much pressure on myself and was constantly really hard on myself on never doing enough or being good enough in life. I'm doing a lot better on this so far for 2023. I have my moments still as I am human, but I try to take any of that negativity and re-frame it into something positive that well continue to propel me forward. Like for example, look how much adversity I went through in different situations of life (Career, self-care, relationships, and look how good I got through it all. Now let's increase the grit by a couple more notches.

Working out is in my experience the only easily fixing your life pill. It makes you feel far less depressed, it helps you sleep, (I was extremely frustrated by getting like 2-3 hours of sleep in 2 days and going to school without sleeping at all) it makes you like your body more, you'll get random compliments for your physique. What you need to do is to stay consistent, and if you miss a day -you exercise on a rest day. (But be smart with getting enough rest though, don't be the person exercising 9 days in a row) Once you miss a whole week of working out, maybe for the fist time in half a year after going like 3-6 times a week, you'll notice how much worse you feel mentally, and physically when you come back. That can be a good lesson. I also need to focus on the other habits you talked about, such as reading more

True. Habit swapping works very well. You had the very similar or even same problem as I had. How did I fix it? In order to wake up early, I bought a light alarm clock. Got that idea from Izzy Sealey's KZbin Channel. It wasn't easy at first, but that light really helped! After a few successful weeks of getting up in the morning, I got that crazy idea of making 2023 THE year where my life is going to change to the better. First, I changed the Alarm time from 4:00 AM to 3:30 AM. That was really painful at first, but the benefits surpassed the hard days at the beginning. Now I got the time I need every morning so my morning routine isn't rushed anymore. The only downside of that new routine was, that after work, my body was so tired so I slept in on the afternoon at home. I'm a night owl. Or I was one. Even if I need to work from 14 to 22, I get up much earlier (at 7 or so). Usually I used to get up at 11. The benefit of not having to rush everything before work is really worth it. My goal at the beginning was to read a chapter of a book in the morning and add that to my morning routine. But sadly, half an hour often would not be enough for reading one additional chapter in the morning. (I can't stop midway in a chapter. If I stop, I have to read the whole chapter again). Not so easy if I read a professional book which uses jargon based on that profession (in my example it's x86 Assembly with words like for example: BCD, LEA, EOL,COORD...)but I'm not a native in English and certainly not a professional in that programming language. My advice would be: Think of one or some new habits you want to change and adopt to it. Push through at any cost. No matter how hard it is, it will certainly be worth it in the end by transforming you into a better version of yourself. Ask yourself the question: Am I satisfied with my way of living? What would I like to achieve in the next x years? What is my purpose of life? How should the better version of myself look like in the year X? What would I need to do to get there? With the things I'm doing every day, which habits take me closer to that goal and which habits put me further away? If everything is aswered honestly you can take the next step: Measure your road to success. For example: I want to learn Chinese. Jump into the cold water, do some fun stuff at first to get a "feeling" of the language (for example watch some C-Drama or listen to some C-Music), and if you kind of love the language or find it interesting, or you like the culture or something else, you really have to find a REASON (Yes, I'm an Insomnia. I love Dreamcatcher), a really strong REASON to keep staying motivated to do the hard work (In my example: try to familiarize with chinese, the culture, the C-Drama, and the writing of Pinyin/Hanzi I didn't research the writing of the language yet so I don't know. Currently I focus on learning words by sound and to learn some characters, just to know the characters name, but not the correct way of writing yet). The more time you spend and enjoy doing this, the more you will be interested to start doing the hard things (actually learning the language, grammar, maybe even taking a course). But before that, you have to have enough motivation to not give up by doing several mistakes in a row or having several "bad" unproductive days in a row. Make yourself liking the language, maybe even loving it and as time goes on, your relationship with the language keeps getting stronger. First learn it on the time you feel like wanting to learn it (get some words from lyrics of your favourite chinese song (as of writing this, I completely fell in love with the drama "Love between Fairy and Devil", so I had to understand the intro music of that drama ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYHEiXeMmpmEg9U )), and only then (after 2 months or so) start thinking about dedicating a fixed time to your language learning (might be 1 hour on saturdays). Then start to increment that number for this day. After that, start to increment the number of days you learn: 2 days a week, 3 days, and so on until you reached the full week. Swap the habits: Instead of every day 2 episodes on Netflix, watch 1 episode (maybe even in that language) and take the time which would have been used on the second episode to actively learn the language. Not just will you free yourself from TV, you will also use that gained time wisely. I'm sure people who want to achive something in life and be productive use Notion or similar tools. I'm sure there are templates created or template tutorials for learning a language and track the process. That's all for now. Thank you for your video, it's amazing.

At this moment I am just stuck in my life, my clg exams are ongoing but I m not studying anything. My sleep scheduled is messed up I used to sleep at 1 Am and wake up at 10 after waking up I switch to mobile and watch youtube videos till 12PM. I always try to change my self but I didn't get out of my comfort zone and ended up quitting it. I have doing this resolution thing for last 3 years but quitting it after 3,4 days always. Studies not happening Don't have any source of money Just wasting Mom Dads money I have watched your video and felt like I want to change myself completely. From now onwards I will keep track of my day, exercise, study for exams and other books. I will Make myself proud. Let's meet at the end of this year and I will update my comment to let you know what changed and what not. Let's build a life of which I am proud of.

1. Find your keystone habit. Habits that are more important than others since they’re correlated with other good habits: sleeping enough and working out and these made her productive. 2. How to start: working out. - Do Anything you enjoy. The key is to enjoy. - Pretend to be confident at the gym. - Starting small. (At the gym) - We can’t fully control the outcome (how much we’re gonna lose weight), but we can control the input (how much we eat, how often we exercise) 3. Hot or build self-discipline/ confidence: - enjoy small successes. Accomplish every day. - Normalize doing things that you don’t enjoy if you want to Practice self-discipline Follow inspirations Podcasts 4. Get inspired by: reading! - Books on som subjects - “maybe ur current mindset or your concern is not aligns with that book. “ - SHORTFORM- to get key idea of a book. Book guide. 5. Get inspired by: KZbin. - write down smth from videos. - create Instagram- share the things you learn, document your day. 6. How to start: waking up early. - identify the reason why I struggle waking up early( go to sleep soon). How to change old habits: • Cue- a trigger that kicks off the habitual Behavior. To change cue you must keep the old cue deliver to the old reward insert new routine. Her cue-goin to bed; routine-scrolling social media ; reward- consuming content and getting a spike of dopamine. So she had to change the routine part where she grab her phone and decided to swap it reading books - charging station far from a bed - waking 15 minutes earlier in morning

2022 was a tough year, but fortunately I didn't waste it. After watching your video, I really implemented things that I learned. And what surprises me is that I CAN CHANGE! I didn't believe or realise that before. Starting with learning languages and reading books, I accomplished quite a few things last year. Changing the fixed mindset to the growth mindset is the biggest one. Hope to continue in 2023!

A word of advice those of you trying to progress in life, don't judge yourself compare others success of progress to your own. You should compare yourself to who you were to who are now, it will give you more of appreciation for how far you've come, regardless of how you've much made.

thank you for these! Krissy Cela was the one who inspired me to take my fitness journey seriously too, alongside with Leana Deeb. i already started building the habit of working out since November and December last year so that it'll flow more naturally in the new year. i did start the year very ambitious and had a mini burnout a few days ago, but i'll remember to balance my lifestyle and keep showing up. 💪

Rui This and All your videos are great and you are great, You have added my life to a new level I thank you for all these videos. I was an educated homeless man and as a Mortgage broker I lost everything in the bank crash in 2008 I got off the streets in August 2020 by a family member who did not know nor did anyone know I was Homeless. I was to embarrassed. So now I am going to youtube but only one test video due to I want to educate myself and do this right not just click and go but strategy. Ok, enough I will keep watching all. What made me change a lot it was to change the voice inside the head, nothing will works if your voice (mentality) isn't confident and not believes in the journey. So many times we've search methods and ways to get better results, but maybe all you need is on you, just take a time to be introspective and to think what's wrong in you life, what you really want and what you need to do to get it, and ACTION. Only you have the control of your life, your future depends of what you're doing today and tomorrow..

Ohhh myy, so this "Revenge Bedtime Procrastination" is what I'm struggling with for all these years, putting me away from a good sleeping habit!! Yeah, that's exactly the feeling! It's like "Screw my sleeping time! If I just go to bed now, I will have spent all my day doing only work and duties, without a single moment for me, doing anything I really enjoy! So here's the thing, brain, I don't care if you're gonna be like a zombie by tomorrow, I'll just watch my favourite TV show until you get my dopamine levels satisfied!". I developed this behaviour during college, wich was the harshest period of my life, and had no time at all to enjoy my things - it was all work and studies. Many years have passed since I graduated, and although I have more free time now, the bad habit persists. But I'm pretty sure that one of the key factors for this routine keep going on is my ADHD.
