Wendy, another older artist here, I've been professional and won awards, Volunteered to exhaustion, taught and showed and sold, but burn out is a real thing! Now at retirement age (I'll never retire from creating.) but retired from the push to Market my work (yuck) your videos have helped me to remember to PLAY again, my tight realism I love sometimes holds me back with the feeling everything needs to be salable. My sketchbooks are my safe place to play. I don't know if you'll see this comment so long after your post but I admit to saving your precious videos in my browser as a sort of dessert - for my soul! Waiting to watch them when I need some of the magic you so generously share here. You my dear are such a gift!

Over the past couple of years, your videos, art and lifestyle along with my daughter teaching me about meditation, have changed my whole perspective on life. I now create more and don’t worry so much if anyone else likes it. I allow myself to have days off to re charge and don’t feel lazy or guilty. I take each day as it is and find great solitude and pleasure in every tiny new thing, especially in my garden. I’m almost 70 and at last feel free to just be! Thankyou so much Wendy! This video was wonderful, thankyou for sharing, take care xx

I do hope you'll make a postcard of this one. I feel such an emotional connection to it, probably because I was feeling emotional when I watched it and you spoke right to my artist heart as you created it. Also, thank you so much explaining the part where you alternate between loose strokes and more precise choices. I have often struggled with making things too tight and it shows up as being stiff in my work. I feel greatly inspired and a little weepy. Once I finish my current series of drawings, I want to try some mixed media works because it looks so much fun to experiment and add layers. So thank you again, for giving me something to look forward to in my art. 💖🧚‍♂

The timing of this video is so perfect for where I am in life’s journey. My ex-husband passed away December of 2022. We still owned property together so I had to end VanLife and get a job to keep up with the mortgage. It has been a tumultuous and very emotional year grieving for not only his passing but knowing there will never be reconciliation. I go into the studio and all I feel is empty. I’ve been following you since the start of COVID and your spirit has been so uplifting. Now even more so. I need to get back to journaling. A very personal journal of the journey I’ve had. Much love to you Wendy and bunches of virtual hugs for sharing your light with all of us.

Gorgeous 😊 i hated art in the school system as there was ALWAYS RULES 🙄 Always told "how it should look." When in fact art is whatever you want to create. Whatever exspresses, you! P.s. i could see a jewel cave in this piece. Big white space is the cave entrance and the spheres are all the jewels hanging in the cave...😊

Okay....told the cowardly lion to take a nap... Dug out my watercolours, oil pastels and my bottle of acrylic ink, and added my acrylic copper paint. Wow! I played, let go, had oodles of fun making art I don't like. Hee hee! I found new combos of colours and learned so much. I will take a break and then add layers and have more fun. Maybe send the cowardly lion out for a long walk while I explore, and I can make art I love. Would love any recommendations on getting past the ugly middle stage. I fight with myself, as sometimes i just want to give up then, and have to resist painting over the entire piece with black gesso. The fairies of spring must miss your visits to the woods. Perhaps your muse is visiting them and reassuring them that you'll be back when you're ready. May the new growth of spring's renewal bring you energy, strength, and the urge to stretch from your cocoon. Gentle hugs to you and James. Love and light always 🧡❤️💜 Update: Went back after lunch, a walk on the beach, and a brief boogie to some funky music, let go and added a few more layers (and a little black and white gesso) and now I love my piece! Thank you for sharing this - the oil pastels acted as a resist to the watercolours so I had pools of colour, and I had neglected my copper paint for so long that I was nervous about using it (after the beach visit though, I brought it in and it reminded me of sparkles in the water and shells and rocks near the shore). Sparkling magic - thanks for sharing yours, and trying to send some back !!!🤗✨✨✨✨✨

What fun! It’s lovely. You have inspired me today. I haven’t made time for painting…stuck on what to paint, lately. 🥰

Love these videos. I feel like we get a glimpse into your healing. Thank you for always sharing your emotions and techniques. I found your videos early into my junk journal journey and i even sell them. You have helped my confidence grow. Many thanks and blessings to you ❤

Thank you Wendy for this lovely video, you can see the joy you get while creating you are in your happy place, I am in the middle of decorating half the house and moving my art studio lots of distruption and chaos but is going to be so worth it in the end.
