I feel like this was half RP education and half "How to get over social anxiety" guide lol. "Just walk up to somebody and start talking to them. It might seem hard at first or scary, but it isn't. You just have to do it and over time, I promise you, it will get easier."

Typical opening conversation and how it plays out: (walk up to stranger) “I smell shit . . . Do you smell shit?” (crickets) “No I don’t smell any shit.” “ I smell shit. Smelt if for the last 20 miles or so. Can’t get rid of the stink.” “Maybe it’s on the bottom of your shoe. (?)” (thinks inquisitively) “No. I’m sure it’s not on my shoe.” “So stranger. What do you do for a living?” “I’m a dung dealer. My farm’s about 20 miles to the east.” “ . . . ”

Been playing a gnome who acts like a dwarf. She's high energy, and mildly insane. it's fun to run into a tavern. Tap her fingers on the bar anxiously. And occasionally interrupting a conversation with someone else to scold the voice in her head.

There's a RP Warcraft video? And it's NOT trolling or critical of the practice? You are a saint
@TheSirStrazzen6 жыл бұрын
Will put this here for any who are looking to join a particular RP server anytime soon. I've played across 4-5 different realms now , and by far the Friendliest and most enjoyable community I've found is on Moon Guard (US) . Now , that being said , it is also one of the 'Freakiest' , and most sexually explicit realms also , with many video's here on KZbin about 'Moon Guard's Goldshire' , or as most call it "Pornshire" . But, ERP and Futanari's aside, MG's community is very open, friendly with many on the realm being caring, kind and helpful. In sharp contrast is Wyrm Rest Accord. Especially on the Horde side of things. Their people can be very, very 'Elitist' , very unfriendly to newbie's and experienced players alike. They are very "Holier Than Thou" , Lore Boi , Elitist, Salty, Douche Bag Trolls that just do not make most feel welcome at all. (( This was the way things were when I left WrA 6 months ago.)) Some of the other realms are Hit-or-Miss , with some being friendly but not very busy , or vice versa. I've also played on Argent Dawn , Black Water Raiders and Emerald Dream , and it's a big Mixed Bag. But , best thing for me was just rolling new characters on 4-5 different servers and getting myself out of the initial starter areas, and into Org , or SW , or somewhere where I could meet other Role players and form a better opinion there. For me , Moon Guard will always have a big spot in my heart and life. Their cheerful, welcoming attitude is a nice change compared to some other servers and other games. I've always felt accepted there any enjoy my time there.

how is the pvp scene in MG and WrA? one of the big aspects of my soon to be drawf is hatred of elves
@Tr1sh4Lynn6 жыл бұрын
I like how you introduce the subject, but I think I would have personally been served better by having you show an example in terms of using an alt and showing how you'd walk up to someone in a guild that character doesn't know. I hope there are more vids in your series that do this.
@cindthialarrabee65447 жыл бұрын
I know this is totally close to the subject on the walk up scenario: But generally I post long things on what my character is doing to have someone walk up to me so that way they know 100% I'm IC and not AFK/tabbed out. Cause on WrA I often see so many people standing in silence staring at each other across the street IC tabbed out not engaged and not giving a person a reason to walk up. Even in this TRP it says "Walk ups welcomed!" But it doesn't give me a reason to 100% post to them because they're sitting there not doing anything. Like I don't know about any of you people, but generally in real life I tend to be actively doing something and not staring into space...I figured in a sense if we're playing our character and we have to think in a nearly similar mind set as them...They would be clearly doing something even if it was staring...What facial expression would they have? etc.

Hi Inquisitor! I am not remotely interested in participating in RP. I am way too terrified to even try, however I do find it intriguing, and a part of me wishes I was more into actually trying it out. I do want to take a moment to say that I am finding these guides very interesting. It is pretty neat to learn and understand the whole process. Keep up the great work!

Inquisitor Aura Welcome back friend. I seriously thank you for taking this matter into consideration. Even as a roleplayer for over a year, I find the concept of approaching the people I don't know very daunting. You have a knack for tackling critical rp concepts so thank you. Basically I feel like a majority of the tensions spring from lollers and the fear of being ridiculed. Now as an roleplayer I always try to be as open minded and collected towards people who walk up to me but I seldom approach strangers.

Wow I have always wondered how people act and how the mechanics of the game apply in RP servers. It's quite fantastic. Although I still do not know whether RP players also raid, PVP or do end-game content? I mean, do you guys also emote in boss fights? How can you emote in the arena and CC the healer so you can take down the dps?!
@vinicius57936 жыл бұрын
For end-game content, where I can't stop fighting to type, I use an addon called SpeakingSpell. With it I can set phrases to trigger depending on a specific event. You can do simple stuff like doing a battle cry every time you burst, or more complex things, like setting 10 different phrases, with different percentage chance to happen, for when you get cc'd or when your ability miss or get blocked. Things like that. Hope I helped a little =] (sorry for bad english).
