Brilliant AND clear video, you've demystified the process. Every time I've thought about approaching this subject I've run away from it, it looked very, very complex. Showing the process on your sloper (which I'd never seen done before in written tutorials) is a godsend! Now I know which course to go on, which this vid helped with! 😍

Ohmegosh, love this, thank you for sharing! I am a pretty proficient quilter but just recently started making clothing. I sew lots for my kids but have been really put off at making things for myself because I'm totally intimidated and trying to make clothes that fit my Mommy of 3 figure. This is SO very helpful! :)

Can we see the finished product?? I just bought about 50 vintage patterns...advance, Hollywood, vogue, butterick, and since I too am fluffy, was happy to see someone tackle this!

What a great video! I had no idea I could buy a sloper and be able to use all the vintage patterns I inherited from my mom-in-law. I'm much larger in the bust than she was, although otherwise our sizes are similar. I plan to order a sloper pattern from Butterick. I had no idea such a pattern existed, thanks so much for your help!

Hello! I was wondering, would this work with a 40s pattern? I bought it off etsy, but it is for a 30 in bust, 25 in waist, and 33 in. hip, but I have a 39 inch bust, 37 inch waist, and 51 inch hips. How would we adjust it?

Can I pay you to redraw a vintage pattern to a size 16? I'm really tall and would like the pattern to hit just above mid calf. Butte rick pattern B2509 size AA

Hi Fernando, I think there's a huge need for this service! Someone out there needs to start up a dress pattern grading service, they'd do very well!

I amonly 3 minutes into the video but I love it so far! I'm about to make a dress sloper (my first, yikes!) from a Connie Crawford pattern; hers are designed specifically for fuller and/or mature figures. Do you think the fitting pattern is worth buying, or would any fitted pattern work for making the sloper? What kind of paper are you using? It's so nice and sturdy!

Although most of the models are slim, there were many plus size ladies in the 50s. I try to sew these beautiful 50s dress but I can't increase the measurements to size 20 properly. This video was helpful. Thank you. What I'm struggling to do is the full circular skirt. Is there any video that shows plus size full circular skirt, please?

I found a tutorial for a plus size circle skirt here (it's pretty detailed): kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGisk42uoalkfpI

Where can I find slopers, do you have more information about them? This is the first time I heard of them. (Would they be sutible to adjust Edwardian/Victorian patterns?)

Hello I was wondering if you could help me. I made a skirt pattern at a small and.my friend wants me to make a skirt for her XL to make the small pattern bigger do I add 1 1/2 in to make it XL or do I need more or what? Thank you. It looks right but I'm scared to cut the fabric.
@kimberleygamble86309 жыл бұрын
Hi I Hope This Helps You But It Should Be Ok If You Make The Skirt Pattetn By 1 1/2" to Make It XL; It Should Work; Sorry I'm Not The Person You Probably Hoping Had Reply.

If I wanted to slightly enlarge the collar to fit proportionally like the original, would I simply add a certain amount all the way around, or only on certain parts? (Hope my question is clear!)

How long have you been sewing and how did you learn to sew?
@marysinclair19178 жыл бұрын
hi sue, when you enlarged your pattern what size did you make it for? Im looking at the size of your paper, I have some of this but find that when im cloning a pattern from a commercial my paper is too small for my size. I have 2 rolls of A3 tracing paper and 2 rolls of 50m pattern paper, but they're not wide enough and I really would like to use it rather than my plotter paper roll which is not transparent.
@GiselleBel7 жыл бұрын
Sew two lots of transparent tracing paper together with a zigzag stitch on your sewing machine. You may have to roll up the one that goes under the machine's arm, maybe put quilting clips on the roll to hold it out of the way. You could also tape it together but sticky tape shrinks when you iron the paper.
