@quilterstitch That's the great thing about Misty Fuse too... you don't have to worry about it sticking or preparing right when you need to use it. You can prepare in advance & it's fine. You can also cut off the piece you need, and if you have extra bits, just save them & use them in the next fusible project. You can also overlap the pieces without adding bulk and noticeable seams where they overlap. I keep pre-fused pieces together in a bin.

@quilterstitch I have used several brands of fusible webbing, and the ones I use in my quilting depend on the application. Right now, Misty Fuse is my #1 choice for appliques in quilting. This is a fusible which is not paper-backed, so it requires an applique pressing sheet to use it. It's lightweight but strong, & it keeps the fabric soft & pliable. It does not leave a residue on your needle.

I love my AccuQuilt Studio. I found a piece of scrap 1/4 inch plywood that fit my tray and covered the raw edges with duct tape; it works as an adapter for the Go Dies and Sizzix dies. I rather spend my money on the dies. In a pinch we have used empty file folders under the tray to get the dies to the right height. The key is to make sure the dies are the right height to get the pressure for the cuts. Sometimes more layers of fabric cut easier than a single layer.

@quiltmaster59 No, the die tray adapter is to adapt Sizzix & some Ellison dies. GO! dies are not compatible with the Studio.

Thank you for the recommendation of the fusible. So when using it without the paper backing, do you need to wait until you are ready to use it, so it doesn't stick to other things in a bin. Just trying to be efficient! I can see that you think that way as well.

Whoops! Sorry I'm only seeing this now! Yes the Sizzix Originals dies work on the Studio. You need the tray adapter sold by AccuQuilt.

Hi Krista, the GO will only accept GO dies. If you want to use dies across systems, you need to get either a Sizzix machine or the larger Studio. I think the Fiskars Craft Fuse also accepts Sizzix & GO dies. The GO was not meant to take competitor dies. Sorry!

Lamban, as I have mentioned on this thread several times, only GO dies work in the GO machines. So no additional sandwich ideas are really possible as far as quilting dies are concerned. The opening is too narrow to accept competitor's dies.

Hi Surie! Thanks for the compliment! To use GO dies in the Studio or GrandeMark, you need to purchase the GO die adapter. If you expand the video description up above, I have added a link.

Can you recommend a good fusible that you have experience with for appliques, especially for use on bed or lap quilts? I have heard some fusibles will gum up your needle & sewing machine, and really who can afford a trip for machine repair. I have been told to use only the lightweight fusibles on quilts to prevent excessive stiffness. What has been your experience? Thanks

can you use any other dies on the accuquilt go machine. I like the accuquilt go but I am wanting to get different fonts. I am new to this. ad so far I have only found that accquilt only has one die for lettering. I like that sizzix has all the different fonts. HELP!!! please Thank you

No, they do not. AccuQuilt carries the GO adapter, but the Sizzix adapter you still need to purchase from AccuCut.

Love your videos. My question is, which Sizzix dies can you use with the AccuQuilt? I have the Studio 2 and some Sizzix dies labeled "Z." I know Sizzix has the thin ones and framelites (?) but not certain if they would work on fabric. Keep on doing what you are doing!
@LoveBugStudios7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jill! I'm not familiar with the "Z" dies. You want to stick with the Sizzix Originals, and anything with "Bigz" in the name. Stay away from the dies that end in "lits" and you will be fine. :) Basically, you need them to be steel-rule dies with a 5/8" profile. Also, I've updated my adapter recommendation to this one: lovebugstudios.com/shop/studio-adapter-set-for-sizzix-dies/

where do it get the adapter?

The Studio trays and the GrandeMark trays are the same, so you can use either.
