How To Add A Book You Wrote To Your Goodreads Author Profile

If you've recently published a book (or put one up for pre-order), you don't have to wait for someone else to add it to Goodreads in order to 'claim' it the long way.
Instead, you can add new books your wrote to Goodreads yourself, automatically tying it to your author profile. This video will show you:
-How to create a new book in Goodreads from the Author side

How do you rearrange the order of my wirtten books on the dashboard? I want my newest book up top.

This is a great question that I'd love to know more about from Goodreads customer service, because I don't know what metrics they use to decide the order. To my knowledge, we authors don't have any control as to which order our books show in on the Goodreads website.

For the record, it is recommended to leave the "sort by title" field blank, it auto-completes once the entry is created.

Every time I launch a new book I find it's already been added to GR. And it telsl you not to add a book if it already exists, but then when you use the search option from this page to find it there is no means to add it to your account. Very confusing. I always end up reaching out to support. I must be missing something.

Thank you for watching! If you wait until your book has launched, someone else may have added it (or Amazon possibly pushed it over to Goodreads, as they're both owned by Amazon). I do always search to ensure that my book is not already in Goodreads before adding it, but I add mine as soon as the pre-order goes up (as soon as there's an ASIN assigned that I can use for Goodreads), which prevents anyone else from adding it.

@@KatherineDGrahamAuthor Yes, it's in their database but never attached to me as the author. I think it might take a while for it to sync.

@@dmandrewsauthor It won't automatically attach to your Goodreads author account. If you don't add it before the system does, you'll need to reach out to the librarian support thread for each book to connect them, which I know can be a hassle (but thanks to the volunteers who do that for us!).
