Problem is this doesn't work because if you click on the background or on the nav-bar itself the dropdown menu closes but this doesn't trigger the lottie animation, so then the animation is back to front from that point onwards. I'm having this exact problem and i think the only solution is to build a total custom nav-bar & setup the open/close animation using actions so the menu open/close can all be controlled as you want it. Some people suggested a javascript in the footer which will trigger a click on the menu button when you click on other parts of the page & the menu closes, but i've not managed to get that to work at all. Webflow's nav-bar is woefully out of date it has to be said.

Just figred this out - the navbar component itself has special element trigger called "navbar opens" that includes the opens and close triggers you can attach the animations to!
