One another downside is that once you brand your product as Generic, then it's really difficult to change the brand name on the listings even if you have a brand registry and trademark for it.

@@KaleemKhan-ox9gh Because Amazon mentions in their help pages that brand name cannot be changed once assigned to a listing. If you had to create a branded listing then you need to do catalog authorization and later on do the brand registry. You might be lucky if you can convince support to change your generic to brand name. Best of luck

If you have products that were purchased in bulk, if you do not have a UPC like store bought items, are they all listed this way? There is no help page on the Amazon product listing page for items with no manufacturer information and the screens are different from yours. It is such a confusing, frustrating process to list a "new" product that already exists but is a different color!

I just starred as a reseller(mostly books) using fbm. However when adding a new product I am still confused on barcode etc when there isn't one on the book. Also, when you day brand your product or private label what exactly does that mean? I though you can't do that unless you are the one physically making the product ie homemade items etc.

As I am starting new as well and doing FBA I learned that you can exempt the product ID option. I did today and use generic brands, and my listing is live and active. But since i still need to place the order for the goods. Atleast once the shipment is ready I know I already created listing. Amazon need to do a better job in explaining the whole process for new members as there are a thousand ways to approach. I am planning to create small videos of my steps so I can learn and teach someone as well.

Do I need to trademark each and ever item I plan to sell under my company's Brand Name, or each product by it's name. So instead of "The Fire Stick Flashlight by XYZ" to get approval to sell that on Amazon, do I need to actually TM the NAME "The Fire Stick Flashlight". Hi Josh, great informative video! Think you can update the first step adding the product because process has changed. Checking the "I dont have a product ID" turns to "A GTIN exemption is required if you put a Generic brand name or checkmark the "This product does not have a brand name". So basically can't move past this part without adding a Product ID :( Any help would be awesome 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Yea you have to take gtin exemption and then after 24hr Amazon will allow you to list

Use the FNSKU label that Amazon will provide you with if you're not using the UPC barcode. Amazon will prompt you to download these when creating your shipment workflow

I am in the process and I just passed that step.. when you start the shipping plan, Amazon will give you the barcode and you send that over to your supplier who will apply it on your units… don’t let amazon do it.. it will cost you extra money..

You’re not ordering upc if you are selling generic products.. Amazon will exempt you from buying one.. you will be given a sku number…200 skus will be generated from amazon and you send that to your supplier so they can place them over your units

you do not "need" a brand name, but it's highly recommended. Very few customers will purchase a "generic" product unless it's heavily discounted or a seasonal item.

Hey Josh, so I’m coming across a problem that I just know you can solve, well because your Josh! I’m trying to sell baby products on Amazon FBA, however each application I’m submitting, there saying things such as you need to provide this and that in order to continue, then after I do submit my final submission with everything they were looking for they just basically we Decline your submission, without any reason on why. Do you know anything about selling baby products on Amazon ? Maybe it’s an area on Amazon that you could look into for us and work your magic. I personally feel as in order too sell on Amazon that the product must come from a high end facility, but at this point I’m lost. Hoping you can provide some input on to this situation. Thank you

Rick don't worry I am an expert i was just watching the comments and came up to your comment . Actually baby products are considered gated , Now gated products are the ones which are high sensitive and you need a lot of certifications to sell them . Baby products is a marvelous market but it is hard to get into it at start , at this time i don't know what certifications have you submitted if i would have known i would have suggested you on that too. At this known information i could not help you more but just advise you to open a case with amazon or hit me up we'll look into it .
