There isnt a 2nd yellow cap and it is not suppose to be filled. The required level indicator is on the tank.

Dudes speaking in absolutes when he’s incorrect. Most new BMWs have two reservoirs, one for charge air cooling and one for engine cooling which is where you’re referring to the 2nd yellow cap. Fill/top both up to the indicated min/max lines, both use the same coolant. You’ll see the location of both in your BMW manual. However, if a light comes on to top off your coolant it’ll be the engine cooling as the charge air cooling doesn’t have a sensor. (Also means you have to check the charge air cooling reservoir every few months).

@@TheEricaDixon i agree, i was slightly rude... but honestly i'm kinda fed-up with videos without a voice track... and it happens pretty frequently. when i need to learn something that i'm unsure how to do, i want to be instructed with details. you asked a great question and to be honest i would have thought adding 100% coolant would have been even better protection (which i did!! 😡) ...but clearly i was wrong as i learned from the people who commented on your question. so yes, i was kinda pissed because IMO it should have been covered in the video.

There should be an indicator on the coolant tank …just dont fill it up …the indicator should be lower then half the tank
