What advantage gives projecting a decal (image) on the wall over placing an image-texture on the wall? What you show looks very good, but same can be adchieved with a image editor. And second what effect does a decal have on render times?

Hi, decals can also be wrapped around multiple objects at the same time. Plus, once decals are added, you can render out multiple scenes without having to worry about fixing the perspective of the decal, etc.

Decals don't affect render times as much as adding a high poly object with 4k materials.
