This was a very clear cut explanation on audio. I wish I'd seen this a couple of years ago before I bought all the stupid interfaces that basically over complicated things. Thanks Mike.

I’ve used OBS under Linux and I figured out a way to have a monitor loopback into the headphones, it involves using the terminal and a pulseaudio command, you have to install the PulseAudio Volume Control in Ubuntu/Linux Mint, the command is “sudo apt install pavucontrol” press Enter, type in your password when prompted and press Enter and let it install. The command to run the loopback in the terminal is “pactl load-module module-loopback” and to stop the loopback the command is “pactl unload-module module-loopback” you will get a delay when you speak into your microphone while recording BUT the result in the recording will be good.

I see that Michael was doing this back in June since than OBS has updated 30.2.2 which now the Display capture now has audio capture (in Beta) ATM.
