I loved your comment, if it’s not on KZbin it can’t be done . I just got a new table off of market place with a beautiful marble top. I wanted it to be 6 inches higher I thought I was gonna buy new table legs. They don’t exist. Then I got the idea to extend the length 6 inches. I’ve seen many of your videos I’m so glad you’re the one who solve the problem.

Thank you for this!!!! I am thinking of a way to raise my parents old soprano table
@laffilmfest37592 жыл бұрын
Channell this way may work but doesn't look like the original legs which I don't mind. The table was given to me by my daughter and we love the extra height. Not sure about ur parents table. Being vintage it may hurt the value of it. My mom wanted an antique coffee table lowered to match her couch....instead I bought couch legs extenders and saved the vintage table :)...thanks for dropping by! Ps...is that Tony sopranos table? :)

This is great. Do you have any ideas if the legs are metal and retangular about 2/3 in wide
@laffilmfest3759 Жыл бұрын
Hello...I would look at metal just like wood, this process might work, a metal fabricator could make some slip on legs but might be expensive, keep in mind to think outside the box like this design I came up with, I have had some say they didn't like the design which is ok with me, the table and chairs function real nice and it's amazing how u forget the leg extentions are different from the original legs, life is way to short to worry about everything being perfect. I'll keep thinking about ur set up and may come up with an idea and u let me know if u come up with a plan

I'm trying to figure out how to raise two older upholstered chairs. One with round base, one with "runners" on each side. Can you guide me, please?
@laffilmfest37599 ай бұрын
Hello Karen, this would be the easiest way, home depot-lowes-menards have furniture risers u can but that sit under the chair, table, or couch, the ones I use for my couch are the clear circles that come in 2" increments...so for my couch I use 2 stacked on each back leg...and 3 on the front legs...gives the couch a nice higher position(easier to get on and off of) and a slight tilt back which feels comfortable, they also work great on beds too...I hope this helps, u could always buy them and if u don't like it take them back, u will see the clear disks for about the first week...then u won't even notice them anymore:)
@donnahamilton2532 жыл бұрын
By any chance are you going to have a follow up video that gives some sort of a finish to the table legs?
@laffilmfest37592 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching...I do appreciate it a lot. Probably not a video on the finish....u can buy super small cans of Minwax stains at any hardware store... little foam brush....plastic gloves for ur hands and u r ready to go....if u pick one that is too light...u can always go darker...but darker to lighter would be tough....once applied and dried u could apply a little stain sealer and u r done. Funny how nobody sells legs extentions for tables....we love ours....the added height is nice :)....I have videos stacked up waiting to produce....good problem to have:)

Can I add thread wheels in my table to raise it 10 cm? I can only find wheels of 7.62 cm but i need it to be 10 cm. What should I do?
@laffilmfest3759 Жыл бұрын
Hello. Finding wheels that tall would be tough. They are made but used for things like work benches in a shop...pretty bulky. I guess if I wanted wheels I could cut some of the leg extentions off and install them, the table got rave reviews at our Thanksgiving meal...I still need to add foot rests about 10 inches off the floor for comfort, I hope u find something that works :)

how do i do this with no drill?

@angee_p that would be tough...drilling holes to secure pieces with screws is a big part of making the system strong...

my dining room table is not wood though
@laffilmfest375911 ай бұрын
Yea, that kind of creates a whole new puzzle, I've been a carpenter for a very long time, doing projects with wood comes naturally...metal fabrication is a different way to reach a simular result but I'm lost in the woods there :), thanks for watching though!
@DeanneMariaCreates10 ай бұрын
I have found that not all the answers can be found on youtube. I have solved many things by just sitting down with old fashioned pencil and paper and thought out how to solve and bring about a solution. I'm self-fitting my kitchen and I cannot stand seeing that under wall cabinet light wiring which we see showing even on high end kitchens.. I looked on You-tube and could not find it anywhere. I decided to purchase additional end panels and routered channels into the panels and it looks excellent; no wires showing.
@laffilmfest375910 ай бұрын
Excellent! Solutions are out there for sure, and if not once u come up with an idea putting it on film and sharing it is cool! Sounds like you( if you haven't already) would make a great KZbin creator :)...thanks for sharing that info...

Do you have a link for those "hurricane straps"?
@laffilmfest37592 жыл бұрын
No I sure don't....I call them hurricane straps buy actually they might be straps brick layers use to hold the brick against the exterior walls...either way a place like home depot or lowes will have them.....I'm guessing maybe .75 each...who knows with all the price hikes. One thing I'm going to add are foot rests at the bottom....like u see on bar stools.....they are holding up well.... thanks for watching:)
@The_Real_Teddy_B2 жыл бұрын

Those metal straps are brick ties. They get nailed to the building frame and then bent into the brick mortar joint during brick laying .
