This is awesome. I've been hearing the chords in my head between my basic 4 chord melodies, but I couldn't figure out what they were beyond the bass note between them. This helped a lot.

It's really informative, but I want to know why did you put only those particular chords. Actually I mean to say how did you came to know it will sound good in that part and how did you fixed those chords so properly that I sounded good. There might be a reason behind your doing. Please tell me that 🙏🏻🙇🙇🙇🙇

Damn, I was gonna just say “learn some Elliott Smith” but this is a ridiculously good lesson. Damn Reddit “music theory group” told me to learn jazz, which isn’t an awful answer if I didn’t already play some in my spare time but I don’t make jazz music. For real. Fantastic lesson and extremely helpful.

Hi Marco, great lesson - I love what you do! This might be a silly question (I'm a beginner), but what action is happening with your right hand when playing these chords? It seems you'd be playing four notes: thumb, index, middle, ring. But which strings; always root chord note with the thumb, and G, B, and high E? Or do the 3 fingers "move" among the top 4 or 5 strings? Thank you.
@mrpesky1635 жыл бұрын
@@neildobbs7278 Thanks, Neil, that helps - kind of what I was guessing was happening but wasn't sure. The concept of what feels comfortable is an "ah hah" too. I noticed the ease of the 3 fingers finding and staying "home" on G-B-E as I practiced. I rewatched and noticed Marco not fretting certain notes in some of the chords too (no middle finger on the E note for the open C chord e. g. : must be 3 fingers on the G-B-E strings, right?). Thanks again!

im confused, in method # 3 SUB-DOMINANT - DOMINANT. Why is it Bm7b5? That is the 2ND Scale degree of the key Amaj7 or the Supertonic. the subdominant is the 4th scale degree. in that case it will be Dmaj7

Love this lesson Marco thanks! Love the channel. Question...any recommended videos to show how you're getting the dominant/subdomant chords? Based off the scale of the chord you're moving to? Confused of how you're getting the additional chords. Thanks!!

specifically the last part, the 'subdominate- dominate'...so the dominate of the next chord? (ie. Gm7(11) being the fifth above C7?)
