How to Add Project to Github from Visual Studio Code

How to easily add your project from Visual Studio Code to your Github repository.

at 2:25 when I click on the check mark I get a message that says "Make sure you configure your "user.name" and "user.email" in git. Why is this and what do I do to get around this?
