I agree with you Carlos I buy and grade my books based on artistic value. Key books are great to have and often hold but as a collector I go by my appreciation for the hard work and effort brought by the writer and artists involved in creating this 1 issue

I got Peter David's Aquaman 4 signed. It's a trash choice for a signature by Peter David if you care about monetary value. That issue holds emotional value to me because Lobo is my favorite character of all time and that cover is one of my favorite covers in my collection. It was a no brainer, so I definitely understand why you chose that comic to get signed.

Sounds like you absolutely understand. Glad you got a chance to watch the video… make sure to check out the rest of the series if you haven’t already. Thanks for sharing the Peter David comic story!

When DC announced they were canceling plans to make a fourth world movie I began moving in on fourth world material. I just need Mister miracle 5 & 6 to have that run completed then I'll move on to New Gods, Forever People, and Supermans Pal Jimmy Olsen. Buy that dip baby.

There's an ASM with a yellow cover and purple spider slayer on the cover. I got a copy in a trade but it turned out to be a rare variant and the guy I got it from decided he wanted it back after someone commented its worth on my post. I just gave it back to him because he accused me of scamming him. I ended up with the short end of the deal and he called that a fair trade. I don't talk to him anymore.
@CarlosCollectsComics2 жыл бұрын
That definitely doesn’t sound like a fair trade… I’m sorry that happened, Way Wayz.

You did the right thing giving it back. But it is his loss in the long run. You are right to not do business with him. And bad word of mouth is not worth mistreating another for their benefit

@@CarlosCollectsComics it was a horrible experience. We had traded several times and he'd never complained and when this one went south he accused me of taking advantage of him on every trade we had made because I didn't answer him immediately when we found out how much the book was worth. The first print was only like a $5 book but the one he had was q toys r us reprint and had a low print count. I didn't know it wasn't the original until I had it in hand. He didn't know because he didn't research it. I trade a low price modern non key 9.8 slab for it and Luke 4 other raw books. I offered him the book that caused all of it back but that wasn't good enough. I ended up with two raw books worth a little less than the slab and he called that fair. I wanted to punch him in the mouth. Worst negotiation I've ever been involved in and he was the only person I dealt with locally. Everyone I talked to about it said I should have just told him to deal with it and that it's not my fault he didn't research but that's not me.

@@stevebines4484 yeah, I'll tell the story but I'm not mentioning his name. Karma will deal with him. He told me the comic community was full of scam artist🤣maybe if he conducted business better he wouldn't feel that way. I got totally off topic though. My nostalgic book is that ASM. I can't remember the number but I'll never forget the cover and it's q cheap book. I still got to find a copy. That soured me so bad on it I haven't looked for one since
