Do you plan on making a tutorial for installing the Collective plugin(the standalone VST version?) I've spent 2 days trying to load the factory instrument preset folder into Collective and failed...despite all of the e-mail instructions from Tracktion's support team. In my 17 years of working with software, I have never had this much trouble with an installer.

@@AudioTechTV I really appreciate the answer because that tells me what I need to know. I was really just trying to make sure that you were not inadvertently stealing by using some copyrighted music without permission. It's just so easy to do. And since you're a pro at this, you probably already know that. It's basically because I'm a Noahide that I was asking. I keep the Seven Noahide Laws relevant to all mankind (including the non-Jewish nations) and learn Torah with the Orthodox rabbis. And the Prohibition of Theft is one of the Seven Laws. Just being careful. Thanks again.

Hi! Thank you for your videos! I have a problem, if you can help me... When I do the scan search, it keeps giving me the same error: "the following files encountered fatal errors during validation" and then the name of the plugins. I tried with different plugins, all 64bit, and nothing changes. What can I do? Thank you in advance

How do you copy and paste your current plugin into another track? Say for instance I’ve been tweaking settings on effects pedal but I want it duplicated on another track how do I copy it and paste it?

Hold down control on your computer keyboard then click and drag the plugin onto the other track

Just recently updated to Waveform 12 free and now the program don't recognize new vst3 plugins, generally some kind of error happens or it just ignores them, when the company has the .dll vst version it reads fine, but no new vst3 plugins what so ever. I tried downloading the previous version again, but it ended up coming with the same error. I saw on some forums people are having the same problem, but I haven't seen anyone give a solution yet. Can someone help me?

What are you doing to try and hear them? Using a midi keyboard? Clicking? trying the computer keyboard option? Are other sounds being heard in Waveform? like if you have an audio file in there can you hear it?

@ghoster119 when you bring your plugins in, are they the furthest thing to the left (appearing before the volume fader and meter) or are they to the right of the volume fader and meter (or any other plugins you might have loaded)? Instrument plugins should be the first on the track so furthest to the left.

so when a developer provides both VST and VST3 versions, what's different between the two?

It depends on what the developer does with each one as there can be added functionality that a VST3 can do. Read the notes for the plugin and see if they note a difference between the 2. VST3s are more efficient with system resources so if you like to use a lot of plugins in your projects VST3 is the way to go. If you’re grabbing a plugin and it’s available as both VST and VST3, go with the VST3 version.

I cant find the vst3 folder in common files what do i do

It just means one hasn’t been created yet. If you haven’t installed any VST3 plugins and are just using the base Waveform plugins right now then that folder won’t exist yet. You can go into the common files folder and create it. The plugin manager might automatically add it after that. If not then you can add it into the plugin manager.

I can click the drums with the mouse but how do i do it with my e drums? everything is hooked up. Why can't I just play the drums on my kit? Only can click the mouse.

You will need to make sure you have the e-drums enabled and active in your midi devices settings. Then you will also need to make sure that the drum plugin that you're using has the same mappings as your e-drums. Some drum plugins will have map presets for some of the more popular e-drums sets. You can sometimes find midi maps for plugins and e-drum kits if you google search for them.

Good day! Am new subscriber. I love your videos. I want to start up with waveform free. But I have this problem I wished to be solved. After making my first beat in waveform, I exported it but when I played it with my pc window player, I discovered that the bpm and the key of the song changed lower than that which I have in the daw. I asked friends, they said I should change the DAW. I tried cakewalk, still the same. Please what might be the problem of this? I use Samson graphite 25 for my midi controller. Please help…

It’s definitely an issue with your sample rate. You have windows sample rate set to something different then what your project is set to and your sound card is locked into that sample rate maybe from still having your daw or some other program open at the same time. You can try doing the fix in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3vUlKBjm6mBZqs and see if that works. If not, have a look at your windows sound settings and see what sample rate your audio interface/sound card is set at and set your projects to that same sample rate.

Make sure you have your audio interface setup correctly in the audio settings of Waveform. If you’re trying to listen to an instrument plugin, make sure it’s the first on in the list (furthest to the left). Make sure the midi notes that you’re playing are in the range that is supported for that instrument. If you’re recording an instrument in (guitar, vocals, etc) then make sure you have the correct input selected on the track that you’re recording to. If you can’t hear what you’re playing but you can see that there’s a signal coming in then make sure live input monitoring is enabled.

I really want to like Waveform. The new version looks great and it has a ton of functionality (I am using free, but have paid for the producer bundle and a couple of sound packs) but alas, I just can't use it. 1. I have an 8 core/16 thread AMD Ryzen 7 2700x. It's not the newest cpu out there but it's plenty powerful for almost anything I do. For some reason Waveform 12 always goes into a dead state when I load a few tracks. CPU is at < 10% but Waveform is unresponsive. Tried rebooting, closing other apps, nothing. Every other DAW works fine (S1 5, Bitwig 4.6, Cakewalk, even Mixcraft, Reaper). This makes it unusable. 2. The multiple output builder with its overly complex spider diagram is the stupidest thing I have seen. It's even more unforgivable on a DAW that prides itself on doing everything in a single screen. This isn't a showstopper but it does indicate an incomplete vision for the product. 3. Support is almost nonexistent. You are one of the very few providing content. Community support is not really there as there seem to be few using it. Anyway, nice video as usual.

I haven’t had any CPU issues with Waveform and I use an intel i3 8100 which isn’t the fastest CPU. I have heard that AMD processors may have issues with not only Waveform but audio production in general. I’ve never used an AMD so I can’t confirm that myself, it’s just what I’ve read. I do agree that their support could be a bit better. I know they used to be active in their forum section. Over on KVR. I haven’t been over there for a while so I don’t know if they are still active. It’s a cool program with lots of potential and it keeps getting better. Hopefully they can sort out the bugs and make it more stable for all users.
