5:56 This is probably the best explanation ever! Thanks for the help, got my pp180 running smooth again. I like your tip with the foam can nozzles. I took one and superglued it to a long junk hex screwdriver that came from some long-lost Walmart furniture set. Now I have a tool I can use to adjust carbs anytime.

YOU THE MAN!I sat for 2 days staring at needle nose pliers and a glue gun to figure a simple hack like this...thanks.

Bob, you saved the day! The "great stuff" tube pressed on perfectly. I used a marker to mark the "top" of the tube near the carburetor for reference. My Husqvarna 445 started fine, but when I pulled throttle lever it would bog down and begin to die unless I let go of the throttle. It wouldn't run at operating speed, only about 1/3 speed. Here's what fixed the problem. My Low took about 1/4 turn to the left (open) to be more responsive to throttle. The High took about 1/4 turn to the left (open) to remove the "stalling" issue and now it runs perfectly!! Back in action, thanks to you... You're the man today! Happy New Year!!

Idle speed screw is below those adj screws. There's a hole in the recoil housing for that.
@danlaviola9374 Жыл бұрын
What he said! The Idle adjustment screw is clearly visible and there is an opening in the green cover to adjust it without removing anything. That is the adjustment used to set idle just below the speed that chain starts to move.

I have a Poulan Pro 42cc saw which is new, and I just got it to start, but it will only run for about 15 to 30 seconds on average before it quits. I figured that the adjustments for the carburetor was incorrect. I don't have the special wrenches needed to adjust the hi, and lo settings, and will look for some at the local saw shop tomorrow. I thank you for providing us with this information and I will see if my older Poulan saw is in need of adjustment also, but it have given me great service since 2000 when I got it new.
