Thank you! Not a bike person, but having bought one for a kid, had to build, adjust etc. Had a bit of a nightmare with the brakes, excellent video, helped a lot!

So it's normal for only one side of the brakes to go in? I came here in hopes to fix that issue but on the second bike I can see that only one brake arm moves in and out?
@ProAssembler2 жыл бұрын
Hi. Unfortunately, this can be seen in the type C brakes and it is difficult to fix it. If the brakes are not engaged while the wheels are moving, it is OK.

Hello. I am having an issue where the right front brake arm is actually loose; it wiggles back and forth, and the metal rod behind the brake is also loosened. However I am not sure which screw I need to adjust in order to fix this.
@ProAssembler2 жыл бұрын
There is a nut on the back of the fork Hold the brake arms in the middle and tighten the screw Of course, not too strong
@jeffgrimes75902 жыл бұрын
@@ProAssembler So that wasn't it. I couldn't adjust any of the nuts on the brake arm at all (this is a side-pull V brake); it turned out the tension spring was loose, and the brake pad's spacers had been mounted improperly. The wheel itself had also dished to the left side.
@ProAssembler2 жыл бұрын
@@jeffgrimes7590 In v braking system, it is normal for the arms to be loose, although there are two screws that can be tightened, but not completely. Adjust the brake pad according to the video and then adjust the brake wire Make sure that the front wheel is in the center, if not, loosen the front screws and adjust in the middle If there is another question, I am here
