You can also run a rag inbetween sprocket and chain when retightening the axel nut to take up slack

I have a 2005 GSXR 600 and my bike only has 1 nut on the end of the wheel system? There are not 2 nuts used to push the wheel back? How do you gauge how far to go especially when trying to maintain the wheel alignment?? Great video!!
@ARPerez3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the k5/6 only have the one nut on one side, just adjust it with the nut, it should not throw the alignment off

@@ARPerez Yep - I did it this weekend and now my bike is running and sounding great! Chain was way loose before.... Thanks!

So the person that swapped my back tire pulled the tension on my chain so tight that there's literally no slack at all he tells me "it's okay because it will stretch over time" I measured the slack there is an eighth inch of Slack!! I feel like it's going to snap if I ride with it with it like this.so ty for the detailed video!

I have a 520 chain sprocket kit. I have a gsxr 600 06. Does that change my tension?

Unless you have had your swing arm modified, I don't think so

I noticed you did this while on the stand..what are your thoughts on making adjustments while rider weight is added and spring is compressed?
@ARPerez2 жыл бұрын
That's why we have that much slack, to account for rider weight and suspension travel. It would be a more precise adjustment if you were to add the specific rider weight but would it be that much more beneficial? That's up for debate.

I thought you had to do the chain when it was on the ground . Take it it’s suppose to be up off the ground ?
@marklockley70082 жыл бұрын
Hey ya, great video!! Quick question. When tightening the nut, holding the chain down doesn't stop the chain tightening even further for me. I was thinking maybe taking the spindle out and putting in the other way so you tighten it from the exhaust side, hopefully this will stop that...what do you think?
@ARPerez2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that could work
@EpicMCFilmz Жыл бұрын
that don’t work i heard
@marklockley7008 Жыл бұрын
@@EpicMCFilmz I've done this on my GSXS and it works a treat. Tightening the axle nut doesn't move the spindle at all, with the spindle thread on the exhaust side

you should be adjusting the chain whilst the bike is on the side stand
