If the boot doesn't want to play put a wee bit of water based grease on it (KY, Polyol which is belt conditioner) Just make sure your actual clutch is adjusted correctly first.

Question, I have braided cables on my 2018 Deluxe, I want to replace my brake and clutch levers, the break one no problem, the clutch one I'm having issues with the cable not loosening enough to pull it out of the lever, I spun the jam nut all the way up and twisted the adjuster all the way up but its is not lose enough to pull the cable out of the lever case, any suggestions?

I know it has been a few years since this was posted, but perhaps someone can help me out. I have a 2000 Springer Softail. I just finished adjusting my clutch cable at the handle bars and at the clutch basket, but I now not able to remove all the slack. I have at least 1/2 in. slack and have run out of threads in the adjuster nut. What can I do to take out the slack. I have the clutch adjuster screw backed out 3/4 turn.

Thanks for the great video Ryan. I have a 2013 Harley Ultra Limited.I was wondering when it becomes necessary to pull the derby cover off and do the bottom adjustment on the clutch? Is it based on mileage or possible slippage of the clutch resulting in performance issues?
@RyanUrlacher
@RyanUrlacher 9 жыл бұрын
Your very welcome Dave and thanks for the feedback! Most only adjust the clutch if it is slipping etc. Until then you really don't need to mess with it.
