When checking the blade against the mitre slot, the same tooth on the blade should be used. Set zero on the guage with the tooth toward the front of the saw. Rotate the blade toward the back of the saw and check the guage against the same tooth. by doing it this way, you eliminate any variables of the blade not being perfectly flat, etc. Love your videos!

1) Use the same tooth for measurement when calibrating the sawblade. The sawblade can be tilted in itself 2) use the same miter slot for aligning the fence as you have used for aligning the blade. You want the fence parallel to the sawblade, not to the slot and you can't guarantee that the two miter slots are 100 % parallel to each other 3) In general you have to adjust the zero point on the gauge for each position of the fence. Since you can move the second position of the fence relative to the first position the gauge need not to be at the position what it says. To clarify: you calibrate the zero point of position 1, it shows zero and for the distance of position two the gauge says 10. Now you move position 2 of the fence for calibration by 1. The gauge will still show a distance of 10 but in reality it is 9 or 11.

Great video as always... Another way to perform calibration/alignments of saw blade is to buy calibration disk/sander plate... Instead, used cutting blade; you use a calibrated plate that you can also spin by hand to make sure your motor shaft is true as well . They run for about $30-50 usd. Your way is still very reliable. You just have to watch for the blade condition that you will use.

Nice! When you measure the distance between the slot and the blade, its better to use the same tooth of the blade at both measurements. So you can avoid the wrong results because of the imperfections in the blade... But its woodworking. A half mm is a good resolution...

The machine is excellent, but I think that when setting up it is always necessary to start from one base. I understand that the slots on the table are made at the factory, but. It was necessary from groove to disk from groove to time, with the same size. Then from the second time to upar. And it will be more correct from the first time to the stop. The errors are summed up.

when you align the blade to the miterslot you should also give the screws a fresh drop of threadlock. if you check your alignment again now you will notice that it did move away from your earlier messurements. i did not believe it untill i just re checked my blade alignment. now that i secured them back in place i messured again and this time the blade stays right in place

Fantastic setup. Good video. But i got one question. Do not want the fence to be exactly parallel to the blade? We were told in the maschine course this can lead to kickback. The recomendation is that the fence is some what more open in the end than before the blade. Depending on size of the maschine it is just a notch.

is your tablesaw flat? Mine is a little bit lower in the middle. That can affect the setup process. For example fence is off square a little the further I go. I heard a lot of people have the same issue with their Dewalts.

Hey! love the video as always :) I have the same table saw and while i have aligned it as best as I can, doing so is made more difficult because the table top is slightly convex. Fortunately it is most flat near the blade but particularly at the four corners mine slopes down by a few mm. Have you found this with your saw? Have you found a solution or a work around while aligning? I typically align the blade’s 90 by zeroing my digital level quite close to the blade (on the table top right beside the insert) Again thanks for the great video, love the workbench!

Good job! Your workbench with built-in table saw and router table is insane! I have been inspired by it and modeled a similar design myself in a slimmed down form with the DWE 7492. Thanks for all the good suggestions and your advice on calibrating the table saw. One question remains, however: How do I set the rip fence square to the saw table? On my saw, it is below 90° and I can't find a way to correct that without voiding the warranty. Do you have any advice for me? Many greetings, Phillip
